Watching highlights he seems to love diving into challenges in the box. So expecting a fair few penalties against us.

Apparently hasn’t missed a game due to injury. That speaks to a body made for professional sport, but will probably change now he’s at Chelsea. Still a reliably fit defender will be an asset.

I would say you are being negative but with our luck that’s probably expected.

looked very shaky first 25 minutes but let's not forget he hadn't played a minute in pre season

I agree. He was struggling the first 25 mins but he really settled into the game after scoring. Overall I liked what I saw of him

Looked awful for the first 20 minutes. Poor touch and poor positioning but the goal certainly settled him down and he switched on and played pretty well after that.

Highlight for me was not his goal, but the pinpoint 30 yard diagonal ball he sprayed out to Chilwell in the 2nd half.

I thought wtf have we bought now after the start he had, but looked much better as the game went on, he's still getting used to us, going to be fine

My thoughts are that if he keeps that up, Fofana will struggle to get back into the starting line up.

Unfortunately it's going to be a longtime before Fofana gets a chance to try and get back in the first team. I wish him well in his long journey to fitness and hope he can finally play injury free.

Fofana may very well be done at the highest level. He will have missed almost 2.5 of the last 3 seasons - with 2 very bad injuries and a number of small niggles.

Was impressed. Was thrown straight in, new league and against one of the best sides in Europe. Shaky first half but found his feet with some very nice sharp passing and aerial dominance.

Will hold my hands up if he continues this form.

The man has character - thrown right in the deep end, shaky start, and settled brilliantly into the game.  We knew when he signed that pace, or rather, acceleration as not his strong point, and he does risk being flat footed, but reality is his positional play is very good.

He's a massive presence as well - strikers will get very little in a physical duel.  He will be a massive part of a much more physically imposing Chelsea.
