I was going crazy when he gifted Son all of that space to run into. It was like he completely bottled the moment. We are seeing too much of this now, too many players losing their nerve and not stepping up when it matters. The amount of times I have noticed a player too freightened to take responsibility in crucial moments is a big concern.

Son took on our whole defense there but you only blame one player? Biased.

Looked like he lost his balance running to follow Son for his miss at 2-1 rather than gifting too much space. But I also think he looked nervy all game.

I do think he's proving himself as nothing much more than a squad player though, with Badiashile coming back in and Colwill having much more potential. That's not a bad thing though, he's good depth to have and looks like he can do a solid job when needed. But I do think there are flaws in his game that hold him back from being someone trusted as a long term starting option.

Disasi was the only one in the best position to stop him. He had all the advantages to stop Son and somehow lost his balance. Looks like he was expecting Son to stop for some reason? I can't explain it.

He is a very solid 4th or 5th choice CB. The problem is Poch is playing him like he should be a starter.

Son has skinned probably ever defender in this league. I see Disasi and Jackson as the new players to get abuse now the regulars over the last 3 years are gone.

Hes top quality defender and seems he has a great character in the dressing room reminds me of Rudi when he just got here. He will only get better.

He was still not there at the right moment, let's stop for a second and consider that players beat defenders and that Son is actually capable of beating multiple. Doesn't make Disasi a bad player.

The difference was that they didn't shirk their responsibilities. Disasi literally moved out of the way to allow Son the space to run into. Disasi wasn't beaten by Son, he didn't even attempt to make it hard for Son.

So did T.Silva...

I think you need to watch the replay again. I would post it here if I knew how to. The only defender Son actually beats is Disasi who is in the perfect spot to deal with it. Silva was effectively playing left back trying to over for the cucu overlap.

I believe that both of them were out of that whole sequence pretty fast.

Only Disasi had the time and space to deal with Son's run, and he absolutely got rinsed. I've stated countless of times that Disasi is a poor one v one defender, but to top it off with his very low IQ in positional awareness makes it worse.

I honestly believe Chalobah is a better CB.

You must have forgotten just how shaky and unstable Chalobah was defensively. As soon as there was pressure for the backline he wouldn't know how to clear the ball and several players took him on a ride, he was much better going forward than actually covering an area by himself.

Disasi couldn't handle Son but let's not pretend that someone else could this last match. He's still a more stable defender in comaprison to Chalobah.

I have never seen Disasi win a one v one situation and his defensive awareness is poor. He gets caught out so easily by the same diagonal run. Every match week.

I've seen Chalobah at the very least win defensive battles. You can believe Disasi is a better defender but he certainly isn't £38.5 million better than Chalobah.

I'm sorry but I don't agree with your assessment. Disasi is in the perfect position and just crumbles for whatever reason.

From that picture you can't really say much, it's not like Son has the ball and Disasi is in front of him in a perfect position...

It's a video.

Sorry my bad lol... Anyway I get it, Disasi didn't do well.

But if you pause around 12 seconds, before Son takes the first touch it's evident that Disasi is actually covering T.Silva's position there, T.Silva never got in time.

So Son could have decided to run forward and not to change his direction and he would be finishing with his right foot but he saw Disasi going there and made the decision to pass him on the other side and shoot with his left foot, all that took 2 seconds.

I believe that most attackers of Son's caliber would manage to get the shot off there. But sure, Disasi had the best position out of all of our players, how much favorable was his position well that's another discussion...

Disasi would be 5th choice CB if whole squad is fit and that's assuming Chalobah is moving on.

Looks the least comfortable of all our defenders with the ball at his feet and takes an age to get the ball under control, which makes for a very nervy watch when attackers are closing him down. Pep will be hoping he starts against City on Sunday as City will crucify him.

If everyone was to go through all the goals we've conceded this season I would dare suggest he's the one making most of the defensive errors, especially with chances created against us.

At the moment he's becoming a liability at the back. I think it's time to bench him for a while.

I don't particularly rate him but i see no issue with the defending against Son at the end. Forced him wide and onto his weak foot after being left exposed by every other defender on the pitch.

The slip prevented him making an actual tackle but probably stopped a goal by keeping him off his right.

Agree with everything here.

I don't think he's very good but there is one guy that should be blamed in that situation there and thats Ugochukwu who I also don't rate at all.
