Credit where its due, he was good today. Still a few dodgy moments but nothing majorly bad. Seemed to get better as the game went on.

I can't imagine he's sitting that far back without Poch telling him to do so but yes, we will get punished eventually. 

Always in the right place to make the clearance. Feels weird to praise a defender when 4 goals have been conceded, but I can't fault him for any of the goals.

Similar to @Scott Harris above, hard to praise a defender when we concede four, but think this was his best game for us.  Just solid.

Hmm interesting comparison. Many of us thought Rudi was average at best before TT got ahold of him. Let's see.

He’s a French international defender which isn’t an easy team to get in based on the quality of their young defenders and Poch clearly loves him I trust the manager. And I love his attitude.

Upamecano gets selected all the time yet was the laughing stock in Europe last season. 

Still not comfortable with Disasi. Grew into the game the 2nd half (albeit at fault for Haaland's second but that was a great sequence of play). Shat myself when he was one v one vs Doku and fortunately that didn't lead to anything. Still has to clean up a lot of his game. 

 

I want this guy sold on the basis I lost a quid as I choose him over Silva to score anytime against City. 🙂

Well, one saw the field in the World Cup final, the other has yet to play for his national team. I think we have plenty of top 4 talent. we just need to come together and stay healthy. Not sure Disasi would have been bought if all Central Backs were healthy - that's a football first decision.

This thread and his decision making in the build up leading up to the penalty goes a long way to explaining why he was brought over "just playing Chalobah".

Scares me defensively though especially in transition. Nothing that can't be smoothed out with good coaching and game time but I'd much rather see Badiashile ahead of him.

Nah he's not THAT bad, let's try not to overreact. He's a solid 4th choice CB, not his fault Poch treats him as a starter.

He’s really bad, doesn’t seem to have anything going for him, dreadful on the ball , turns like a bus and doesn’t even seem to impose himself on the opposition or win headers.

Zouma and chalobah are what I’d consider solid backup centre back and they’re both considerably better than what he has shown so far. 

Donkey. Not good enough on the ball, not particularly good in the air, and not particularly quick either. Another waste of money.

Funny thing is his passing is actually fine, it's just that it feels like it takes 10 years for him to control the ball, look up and actually pass it. 

I think this is a large part of the reason why teams can press up so easily and we just panic at the back when trying to play out.

I must admit that the supposed financial model being used here is clear if we are cashing in on an FFP pure profit with Chalobah whilst replacing him with the second coming of Djilobodji
