Piss poor in the final and arguably cost us the game.

- Gave away multiple chances, either through slipping or giving the ball away.

- missed a sitter from 2 yrds out

- lost VvD for the goal.

 

He gets MOTM, then immediately has a terrible game afterwards. Signs of a mentally weak player.

Back to his usual self after a handful or less of decent games.

Love his passion and he clearly loves playing for Chelsea. But there is always a mistake in him and he has possibly the worst ball control of any defender I can remember. Ones thing for sure, he wouldn't get in any Pep side!!

 

I've already been super critical of him since the start of the season and I don't really want to jump on his back again after what have been good performances lately. I'll give him a pass on this one with the caveat being someone sits him down and makes him watch tapes of Terry's positioning. 

I really don’t get the critical here on multiple occasions he bailed on the rest of the team. He had a few doggy touches at the start but nothing compare the Colwill dribbling out of defence and giving the ball away

Colwill was far less guilty of giving the ball away than Disasi was. He was also good defensively, whereas Disasi was all over the place. Disasi was also constantly sh*tting himself anytime a player would run at him.

I think the chat about Disasi is really just symptomatic of the squad we have built. It's bloated with  players that title challenging clubs would have no interest in. So when one plays a few good games, in comparison to other players who played poorly, we get understandably fooled into thinking they might just be better than we thought. 

The stark truth is we aren't blessed with many, if any, players, who are consistently top class.

He did a lot of talking before this game, said a lot of good things. In the end VVD backed up his talking and Disasi switched off to allow him to score.

Now we will never know if pens would have been good to us or not. Most likely not to be fair.

Agree. It's the lack of consistency from anyone that is making it a nightmare to manage. 

You think you've found something reliable and then next game, bang, you're let down. 

I don't think there is any answer apart from time and patience, as the players gain experience.

Hopefully they all learnt a lot from playing in today's final, and can use the pain of defeat in a positive way.

Yes Sanchez was in a ridiculous place but Disasi played a pass back straight at the goal without having a bloody clue where Sanchez was. It was insanity 

This the shoulder barge just before the pass knocked his balance and therefore the pass. Obviously not a foul just unfortunate. 

If Fergie or Jose was his gaffer he’d be finished, but he’ll be back for more calamitous moments in the run in.  😅😂🤣

I think he needs a rest. Disasi has it in him to be a good player, but right now he looks shaky. Total mindfart for the own goal.

He reminds me of Cahill. Genuinely. 

Consistent. Not great, but good enough to be in the back line. Has an error in him now and again, but needs to be partnered with someone more imposing before he can take the reigns himself.

Cahill was a much better defender so I don't agree with that.

He was a last ditch tackle kind of bloke. I feel Disasi is the same way.

I thought Cahill was f**king brilliant for the first few years of his career, insanely underrated. It's a war crime Vincent Kompany got in team of the season over him that year. But he did have Terry next to him for the most part, he started to decline under Conte. 

Think Cahill is being generous for Disasi though.

That may be so but you can't rely on Disasi to do last ditch cause his reading of the game is nowhere near what Cahill's was.

I never saw Cahill get skinned on a regular like Disasi does, Disasi gets dribbled past all the time. 

But I'll give Sconnie the benefit of the doubt, the consistency is there from Disasi. He's typically average and always fit to play tbf to him. Whereas you can't say that for our other centrebacks who might be better in quality but spend most of their time in a hospital bed.
