Neil A got a reaction from WhiteWall in Liam Delap joins Chelsea *Official*When Delap played a few world club cup games I was pretty impressed being new to us I thought maybe he will be a Costa type player in time
Having seen Burnley and Leeds recently I thought he looked more of a big championship type forward
I hope I’m wrong

I have no problem with Tosin or Badishile starting, just not together. First name on the team sheet at SB should be Trev. Then choose whoever, ideally should be Achempong. Gusto should be starting at RB. All this moving positions from the manager is nonsense. Disrespectful to play Trev out of position

Neil A got a reaction from Bebe1980 in Enzo M in or out? (Sep 25)I cant vote as I am not sure yet
Today if I did it would be out but that’s because of yesterday still fresh
At times I think it’s going well but other times I think this is crap unfortunately recently more the latter
I do think it’s hard to judge him when the central defence is so mid table or even below that standard currently
We seem to be buying potential where when you look at others like Spurs and I hate to say but they have got in players ready to go if we had a central defender and keeper in that bracket with done experience and of a good standard I could judge him more clearly
-
Neil A got a reaction from Drogba1 in Levi ColwillDefinitely on both counts

Neil A reacted to Hessleboink in Alejandro GarnachoIt's pathetic to admit, but really this all comes down to his annoying face. Even if he's twatting in the goals, he's just a very very annoying guy. You usually see these kinds of faces lining up for Liverpool. Might need Giroud on loan to nullify him a little bit.

Are you high?
No one thought we'd be in the final before this started. We have been one of the best sides in the tournament and we're now in the final.
The mental gymnastics some do on here to avoid praising Maresca is insane.

Neil A reacted to evissy in Nicolas Jackson - strikerI think that could actually be his best position. Maybe a left sided attacker in 4-2-2-2 with Delap or Pedro. His finishing lets him down too often.
-
Neil A got a reaction from The Rising Sun in Nicolas Jackson - strikerI haven’t given up on him just yet 🤣
-
Neil A got a reaction from The Rising Sun in Nicolas Jackson - strikerI think he has pace and would be very direct cutting in from the left side
Once Noni goes netto will be right side as the youngster will need time and Maresca has already said that pretty much
I’m not to crazy on Gittens his stats are not that great plus he drifts in and out of games so I think Jackson could be a option with his pace and I believe his work rate is very good
Not saying first choice but there will be games where we need cover or to rest players
I don’t see us that strong on the left side currently

Match Day!
Come On Chelsea!!
-
Really shows how poor the PL is this season that we could, if we were not so inept now and managed by a fool, actually go within striking distance of SECOND place if we could beat Arsenal.

Neil A got a reaction from strider6004 in Maresca out? (Feb)We were very average tonight well sh*t really
I am not one to want managers gone apart from potter recently but kind of feel we never produced a threat tonight
I do think when you look at the keeper and both central defenders we look weak no matter what combination
sancho didn’t beat a man tonight and I don’t really know what netto was doing
Nkunku just didn’t see at all I know it’s not a popular view on here but Jackson is the better option I feel

Neil A got a reaction from charierre in Brighton and Hove Albion vs Chelsea (FAC) Sat 8th February 25 20:00 GMTI guess it’s an old fashioned way of thinking but with 6/7 min to go we were not really achieving much at all. I really wanted us to just do a basic thing a get more men in the box or just put the ball in from wider area quicker rather than just allow Brighton to get into shape and crowd the wide players out
I was left thinking we never even had a go in the end
I do y think we ever once looked like scoring
I was no fan of Poch but we did look like we could score even not playing particularly well the play was a bit chaotic I admit yet a threat seemed to be there

Damn I think I'll go into hibernation until the season ends 😴😁

Neil A reacted to DiegoHavertz in Brighton and Hove Albion vs Chelsea (FAC) Sat 8th February 25 20:00 GMTWhy do you think we got maresca in the first place? Any manager with balls would have kicked up a fuss straight after the jan window we literally got rid of all our depth to rival teams and then got nothing in
-
Neil A reacted to Sconnie Blue in Brighton and Hove Albion vs Chelsea (PL) Fri 14th February 25 20:00 GMTNeed Jackson. Plain and Simple.
Maresca has zero ideas how to play without him.

Neil A reacted to just in Ok Enzo Maresca... prove me wrong! It's was a satirical post BT.
But my God, if Mudryk was found to be taking some performance enhancing drugs, I would imagine that the company that makes it would go bust overnight.
-
I get that we dropped 2 points but in what universe did Palace deserve to win that game. Yes we underwhelmed in the second half but we still had control of the game throughout. Individual errors and inviting pressure on and increasing the atmosphere from the opposition stands is undermining the work that we do but our tactical naivety and mental weakness from the players.
-
Here is the thing though, and I brought it up earlier in the thread with a predicted Spurs line up.
Do they actual have defensive issues? Are they actually still in an "injury crisis"
Are not Porro and Destiny their first choice full backs? Romero a first choice CB?
Sarr, Bissouma, Kulusevski, Maddison, Johnson, Son, Solanke. All first choice players?
They are missing their best cb (VDV) and first choice keeper (Vicario) who, like Sanchez is for us, is debatable if he is actually better than their back up option. The rest, like Ben Davies, are back up players. Would be like us missing Disasi.
We are missing our captain and first choice fullback, as well as a first choice CB. So who's defence is actually missing the most players?
-
A win over Spuds would be massive for Maresca.
Over 30 goals scored in the league already and a 60% win rate would make everyone forget about our weaknesses for a moment which was an impossible task for so many years and we do have the youngest squad on average in the league.
-
Exceeded expectations. If someone had told me that we would be second in December after his appointment or even after the first game of the season, I wouldn't have believed them.
-
Just imagine the feeling the players got when they heard “ we got our Chelsea back” from the away end. That’s was beautiful and credit to the match going fans.
Must have warmed Maresca’s heart also.
