November 10, 20241 yr Quoting @AlexTommo from the match day thread: 'Our PL fixtures after the break Leicester (A) Win Villa (H) draw Southampton (A) win Spurs (A) draw Brentford(H) win Everton(A) win Fulham(H) win Ipswich(A) win Palace(A) win Bournemouth(H) win Wolves(H) win These are all winnable games give or take one or two. We are in a very good position right now so I'm not too disappointed by the result, especially after going a goal down." Imo Maresca will end up where Poch and Potter did, given their compo by use because their inept management combined with our cr@p recruitment. 5 points from 12 of Pool, Toon, United and Arsenal. Not good enough imo. Does not have a big game mindset. So let's see how you do with above Maresca, the minimum we should get imo. Leicester (A) Win Villa (H) draw Southampton (A) win Spurs (A) draw Brentford(H) win Everton(A) win Fulham(H) win Ipswich(A) win Palace(A) win Bournemouth(H) win Wolves(H) win 29 points, no losses. Only Villa and Spurs provide "top team" difficulty and they are nowhere near Pool or Arsenals level. So let's see the team and Maresca step it up and get the job done.
November 11, 20241 yr Leicester (A) Win Villa (H) draw Southampton (A) win Spurs (A) draw Brentford(H) win Need to be looking at 10/11 points minimum here.

Agreed, and what I put forward would give us 11. Maresca appears scared of the big games and happily settles for a point. 2 points from 12 vs City, Pool, United and Arsenal. However he did coach a home win to Newcastle so he should be able to do the same vs Villa, and get us up to at least 13. Leicester, Saints and Brentford (despite poor record) there is 0 excuses for not picking up wins.

November 13, 20241 yr I think our lack of results over the last few years against the teams at the top is simply where we’ve been as a club. We have no divine right to be top 4 every year. I think a lot of fans still think we are the club we were. We aren’t and haven’t been for a while. When Roman came in we had to better Utd and Arsenal and that was about it. Now it’s Arsenal, City, Liverpool, Villa, Newcastle. The league is much more difficult. We’re very early into a new project and it’s only now we are beginning to see any sort of plan begin to work. We are third. I’m reasonably happy with what I’ve seen this season so far. After the next seven league games is the time to look at how we are doing and I expect to be still in the top 4. And I would point the finger at the players against City, Liverpool, Utd and Arsenal when too many underperformed. Whether that was Maresca’s tactics or a lack of belief I’m not sure. We are doing ok and I believe we will continue to improve this season. Edited November 13, 20241 yr by 19seventyone

It’s highly unlikely we will win every game against the so called lesser sides. We’re not ready to do that and haven’t done it since Conte. I’m more confident we’ll beat Villa and Spurs than winning all of the rest. Given our disciplinary and GK issues it just takes a sending off or a Sanchez howler and that’s easily 3 or 4 points gone. 25 or 26 points from that list and we’ll comfortably be in the top 4.

If we were away then I'm not sure. Brentford are a different force when they're at home. Fortunately it's at the Bridge. Should win this.

Lost the last 3 at home to them, 2 of which we did not score in I believe. Their fans refer to the Bridge as a second home, treat it as their own 3 point Lane. Form means nothing for such games, just look at what we did at OT, where every other side, bar Everton, has a lot of fun.

If there was a time to get over this voodoo, it's now. Surely we win this. 😂

December 22, 20241 yr Author Ok here is our run of League games until the end of February, 10 matches: Fulham (H) Ipswich (A) Palace (A) Bournemouth (H) Wolves (H) Man City (A) West Ham (H) Brighton (A) Aston Villa (A) Southampton (H) This is not a hard run, and to maintain our top 4 bid we need Enzo and the lads to deliver a minimum of 23 points, imo.
December 26, 20241 yr Author Ok so not the best start: Fulham (H) - loss. Ipswich (A) Palace (A) Bournemouth (H) Wolves (H) Man City (A) West Ham (H) Brighton (A) Aston Villa (A) Southampton (H)
January 1, 20251 yr Author Oh two for two big enz. That leaves 24 points, have to win them all to get to that 23 point mark asked for.
January 3, 20251 yr Why are Arsenal better than us? Even without Saka they just look like a better team that can go on a winning run. Is Maresca as good as Arteta and just needs a few more years under his belt? Or is our squad really just not that good as we believe?
January 4, 20251 yr Author And like that 23 points is not possible anymore after just 3 of those games. Lol. 18 hours ago, KonaKai Blue said: Why are Arsenal better than us? They won't miss him, young player who replaced him is actually a better footballer.
January 4, 20251 yr The number of players Maresca appears to not rate or have fallen out with is very concerning. It's only January for f**k's sake!

Ah I don't know. Look at the poch blue print. Start of positive, become negative, get a nice payout when sacked. Big Enz will have 4 years to be paid out. A nice earner.
