£44 Million Bid for Ribery?
This season we really need to take advantage of the fact that Man Utd have lost Ronaldo. Our tactics don't need to change a huge amount and I don't think training etc will be wildly different either. Jose, Avram and Guus have shown how this team should be played and its up to Ancelotti to continue their methods and perhaps add a couple of his own touches to create something a bit more sexy. The fact that he has no experience of the Premiership shouldn't really affect good managers. Guus managed it, Jose managed it, Wenger managed it... I know that sounds like a lot of expectation, but we haven't hired him to take our team into 4th and get us to the 1st knockout round of the Champions League...Even Scolari managed better than that (almost)

Squad Changes in the Summer
LOL, the most worrying thing was that Sheva wanted to see Johnson in our team ahead of Bos.

£44 Million Bid for Ribery?
I'd be devastated if we even came 3rd!! Champions League semi-final should be our minimum too. Obviously things may go wrong, but even through transition, with our current players winning both isn't out of the question at all.

Andrea Pirlo
I didn't actually say 'if' :P but yeah i get your point. What I'm saying though is that our squad is already a title challenging team and with Utd weakened, Liverpool stunted and hopefully a good stable manager, our chances of winning the league are probably greater than both Utd's and Liverpool's.

First official signing of the Summer announced...
Doubt we'll be seeing very much of him...

Andrea Pirlo
I don't get it, are you being sarcastic? Had Scolari not f**ked up, we'd have won the League...

Andrea Pirlo
I think what we've lacked more is creativity down the middle, a little flair on the wings would be good too, but we have Joey coming back!! I don't think we'd be changing the team at all if we signed Pirlo. Guus sometimes played Essien and Ballack/Mikel side by side with Lampard further forward...what's to stop Ballack/Mikel being replaced by Pirlo? Honestly, I think we could win the League this season without signing anyone - Ronaldo and Tevez are gone and Liverpool have signed Glen Johnson

Andrea Pirlo
I don't think pleasing the fans with a big-name signing should be the clubs priority. We are very quickly seeing all of the big names being snapped up by Madrid. The ones who are left will have a very much inflated pricetag. Yes signing Aguero or Pato would be good, but it isn't compulsory. I'm sure Pirlo has come out once or twice saying he'd consider leaving Milan with Chelsea being te likely destination. We have Mikel, Essien and Ballack who could play that role. I don't think we should forget that Pirlo isn't just a 'deep lying playmaker'. He was originally an attacking midfielder who has been adapted to play deeper. He's a great box to box midfielder and for £8m, he could be a steal!!!!

Pato
If Benzema cost £30m then we shouldn't be paying more than £35m for Pato.

Has the Premier League lost it's appeal?
Has the Premier League ever been the most attractive league? When have we had a Ronaldo, Zidane, Figo, Kaka, Ronaldo, Villa, Ronaldinho, Buffon or anyone of that stature sign for us here in England. All of the greatest players we've had have blossomed here, none of our 'greats' have been bought for £80m from Madrid. Realistically its only Barcelona, Real and Milan who attract the best of the best anyway. The biggest transfers to England recently have been Torres, Robinho and Shevchenko etc. Must be a weather thing...

Anyone feel the same way as I do?
I think I've become a number 2 :D I don't think our squad is incapable of winning the league. If Ancelotti can master his tactics, which I'm sure he will, we'll definitely give Utd a run for their money this season. Champions League is within our grasp, maybe more so than the Premier League considering who we have at the helm. If we do manage to sign Aguero or Pato it would be great, but I fear they would be bench warmers for this season at least, it will however ensure that we have a good level of attacking depth. I think signing Pirlo is becoming more and more attractive and for about £15m I'd have him. Zhirkov seems a done deal. As for the youngsters we already have, I think had Scolari stayed on, we'd have seen a bit more of them. Hiddink's job was to stabilise and he did that. There was no need for him to even look to our youth, except for the 'who replaces Ashley?' incident.

Ancelotti's plans
Why would Hilario go? He's our 3rd choice keeper?! Or is Sebek coming in to replace him?

Eto'o snubbs Man City
Didn't know any of that...hope he does go to city then... make them implode!

Man Utd Sign Valencia
Benzema would have been perfect for us, a natural Drogba successor. I love saying his name as well!! Oh well...

Ancelotti's plans
Looks like the planning is well and truly underway. Chelsea site

Chelsea signing Aguero
As much as I'd love to sign Aguero, the more I think about it, I just can't see where he would fit into the team. Sure he's a great talent and will be prolific in a couple of seasons but even if we play a 4-4-2, Anelka won't just bend over and give up his position...in fact I think Anelka would be above Aguero in the pecking order from the start. We know Anelka can play alongside Drogba (from the 1 or 2 matches that we've played a 4-4-2) and at the moment I'd say he was just as good, if not better than Aguero. If the rest of the team are playing well Anelka can head a 4-3-3 with ease as well (considering he scored the majority of his goals in Drogba's place). Franco and Sturridge are fringe players and given a chance they have the potential to become top strikers. Malouda impressed at the end of the season and could flourish in a second striker role and playing Kalou in his correct position might see him live up to his promise. Our team at the moment isn't exactly weak. With Essien out most of last season, Drogba out for parts and Joey out for most, we coped remarkably well. Had we not lost to Liverpool and Man Utd, we'd probably have won the league and we know the Champions League should have been ours this year anyway. I can see why we need a big name signing, but maybe Aguero isn't what we need yet. Our strike force is ageing and coming into its ascendency at the same time. The only reason to sign Aguero right now would be the extra option and the fact that he'll cost a lot more in the future. We missed a trick on Diego, but Pirlo seems to offer what we might need. Zhirkov and possibly another right winger would complete our team more than Zhirkov and Aguero would. I'll be just as happy as everyone else if we did get Aguero because we'd be saving money in the long run, but at the moment I just feel that what we have at the moment, with a winger or two and a creative midfielder (assuming Deco's sold) will see us win the league this year. We should now have a stable manager and an established team who know what they are capable of. Lets hope that they can win something big next year.

Maldini to join backroom staff?
The fact that they were 2 separate quotes seems to point to Ancelotti regarding Maldini as a top player and then later going on to say he made an approach to join his staff. I don't think he'd try and take Maldini as a player.

Eto'o snubbs Man City
What puzzles me most is what Man City are going to do with him. Tevez and Santa up front? Tevez and Eto'o? Santa and Eto'o? Robinho? Wright-Phillips? Bellamy? I'm thinking there'll be a lot of unhappy players at City next year.

Shevchenko
Will he go back to Ukraine though? He's lived a very glamorous life for he past 10 years...Milan, London, Armani, model wife. Don't know much about Kiev, but I'm assuming it'd be a big lifestyle change.

Eto'o snubbs Man City
He'd rather stay at Barca...sounds like a snub to me!! Why would ther get rid of Eto'o anyway...who else is gonna score them another 20 goals next season?
