  1. DKW those first three scores I already had a bet on yesterday, we can't both be right . 28 Mar 2014 - Man Utd v Aston Villa - Correct Score Man Utd 2-1 @ 15/2 28 Mar 2014 - Crystal Palace v Chelsea - Correct Score Chelsea 3-0 @ 15/2 28 Mar 2014 - Southampton v Newcastle - Correct Score Southampton 2-1 @ 7/1 Stake : £2.00 Estimated Returns : £1156.00 (a couple of hundred for the site if it comes in) Here's my predictions Man Utd vs Aston Villa 2-1 Crystal Palace vs Chelsea 0-3 Southampton vs Newcastle 2-1 Stoke vs Hull 1-1 Swansea vs Norwich 2-0 West Brom vs Cardiff 2-0 Arsenal vs Man City 1-3
  2. The problem I see with that little prediction is Tottenham failed to score against Arsenal who then went on to concede six against us and two at home against Swansea... Wigan for the Cup though.
  3. I had a bet on You're lots game last night, Bony first scorer and you lot to come back and win 3-1...once you lucked into a 2-1 lead the £231 for a pound stake meant nothing to me as the Swansea equaliser and even a likely winner for them looked to be the fairest result. I said at the time I never bet on the Gooners as they flatter to decieve and even the bullying of the smaller teams can't be relied on at the business end of the season..come on Wigan.
  4. I don't know if I want Arsenal to score three (as I bet 3-1 with Bony first scorer) or Swansea to stuff em...let me think.............. come on you Swans
  5. Three huge accidents in a year...must be something wrong with his steering surely...next thing the wheels will be falling off .
  6. It's really not as simple as "if Stoke can win away at Villa, we should have" Teams set up differently and use different tactics/mindset vs teams they think could beat them heavily and get up for some games while expecting too much from others. We'd beat Villa with the same players and tactics seven or eight times out of ten but it didn't pan out like that and we put it behind us yesterday.
  7. Its beginning to worry me how much I like Luiz in the midfield, never been a great fan of him defensively (in our system...maybe suit Barca or do well in the national side) but when Just first started talking about him looking like he could make a good midfielder I just thought "maybe in the odd game" and expected him to get less and less games. Since then and his first couple of decent performances in midfield that I mentally wrote off as raising his concentration levels through playing in a different position I've found myself hoping he gets more and more starts there, now in fact on form and fit with Matic, he looks to me the best option. What worries me is if we use him there as first choice and start to rely on him only for a big offer to come in from a top team that are willing to play him in his favoured position...might not bother him what position he plays but he might feel as might Scolari that he is better off playing the position he does for his national side. I won't slag off Ramires as I think he's hit a bit of a rough patch of form but we do look a lot more solid with Matic/Luiz, they look like a legendary partnership in the making.
  8. What is a stand out pointer to Torres value to us as a player are the give him credit type posts in this thread, he had (measured by his performances to date here) a fairly good game yesterday in that he worked hard, he looked desperate to score (although against ten men with us hugely on top he still didn't) and he contributed well to some attacks while chasing the ball when we didn't have possession. In itself that certainly isn't anything to complain about even though had he came on and had one of his many lesser performances we would still have come out worthy winners yesterday but that isn't what we need from a main striker here and doesn't make up for the games where he gos missing and effectively leaves us looking like a team playing with ten men. I've been almost convinced four or five times here over the years that his form was on the up, early in the season there was a run of games where I thought he was our best option as his work rate and physical presence looked to me like it gave us more than we get from the other options...to be honest usually after a short run of being first choice I have wondered what I must have been thinking and now for me the most improved forward we have is Eto'o and I think he is by far the better option. I would gladly have Eto'o here next season and think if we buy a big name and bring back Lukaku, Eto'o and Lukaku will be fighting for the chance to play second fiddle to the top man, from what I've seen of Lukaku (promising) I would think he and Eto'o will compete well for that spot. Back to Torres, he plays his part and when he looks like he wants it it's hard to knock him and I can understand people jumping to his defense...he is a Chelsea player after all, the problem is that there are many games where he seems to hide away, to not make runs that even though he's having a bad day at least draw defenders away from our other players and on those days he deserves all the stick he gets, those days just stick in some peoples minds more than others.
  9. Fair play to you for stating the obvious and coming on after the game to do so but I can't help thinking that your arrogance would annoy the hell out of me if I was a gooner...to be saying you are going to win the fa cup, after todays humiliation is about as goonerish as a gooner can get, I'd be saying things like "I hope that hasn't battered our confidence as Wigan are no mugs and certainly can up their game in cup competitions" not you though, you're still writing off teams and giving them zero respect. I think you lot will end fourth, go out of the Cup and rewrite the history of the season with stories of the referee today killing your title challenge and your players underestimating Wigan...its written in the stars.
  10. Unbelievable, blatant handball in the box of a ball that could have been going wide, hit the post and rebounded to a blue shirt or gone in, the player dived to stop what he obviously thought was a certain goal and the officials had a bad enough view to send off the wrong player so judging an inch or three of movement on a ball in the air would be an impossible call, even on TV replays it's not a certain miss.
  11. To be fair to them they're not all delusional...I noticed the fan two up on the left never held the banner, he definately had his blue tinted specs on .
  12. Great to get the goal average boost today but I think we have to get the points on the table, City and Pool are scoring for fun and it would be an impossible ask to turn around the goal difference in the games that remain. Nice to see Cardiff opening the scousers up. as for Fulham, has any team deserved relegation more than this mob of late?
  13. Really tough one for all the right reasons, I think I have to give it to Matic who with Luiz made it men against boys in the middle of the park and gave the gifted players plenty of time and space to do their stuff...would have loved to have seen Eto'o play the whole match and think he would have had another hat trick.
  14. It was no surprise it took him a while to shake of the rust after plying his trade in the Russian league but I think he's a good player to have around, an experienced head, good movement and a poacher that can link up play as well as hold the ball up. Be a great third choice striker or battler for second choice next season.
  15. Jose and Arsene had dinner a while ago and Wenger served Escargot, They sat down for the meal and one of the snails on Jose's plate was moving around...Wenger explained that as that one wasn't well he asked the Chef not to cook it and doesn't understand how it got onto Joses plate... Jose liked the look of the snail and decided although he wouldn't eat the rest, he would take this one home and make sure it survived, Wenger said he could but he must give it back,...Jose kept it and nursed it for years and forgot all about it but last night he remembered and today he brought it with him to the game and he went down the tunnel early to get it, as soon as the match was over he went up to Arsene and said...here's that sick snail I owed you.
  16. Got to give Wenger his due...he said it was their most important game of the season and he made sure they delivered .

  18. I don't wear football shirts anymore, I've got two brand new still in the packet Chelsea Shirts from about five years ago but never put one on., another black away shirt from the nineties that I sometimes wear in bed. I just bought my little seven year old grandson the Brazil kit with Oscar on his back to get round the fact that his gooner Dad won't let him wear Chelsea kits.
  19. Happy Gilmore...Sandler's a bit of a dick but that film sends me to my happy place...tap it in.
  20. I had three quid on UTD to win three one tonight, had a feeling they'd do it but couldn't resist hoping the Greeks got the away goal to put them out.
  21. Hazard had a good game as did JT, Cahill Lamps and Azpi, I think Eto'o deserves my vote for doing what a CF is supposed to, not saying he had a great game but his hold up play and the way he brings the midfielder into play in tight situations is why he should be starting all our games fitness permitting.
  22. No complaints tonight, a few bits of sloppy play and obviously a missed opportunity to have scored a few more but no game is easy at this stage of the CL and we certainly made it look easy tonight, felt we could have raised our game if we needed to and were always safe from the fourth minute.
  23. Eto'o looks again like our number one striker, I love when the ball comes to him in a crowd of players that he doesn't just blast it against some shins he holds it up until someone arrives he can lay it off to, he needs to play as many minutes as his old body will let him for the rest of the season.
