Strange statement by the club IMO. Despitetheir intentions, Maresca has actually come out if this looking very professional. Found out about City's interest, immediately notified Chelsea about the approach and made his intentions clear so they could plan for it. Also paid the club compensation in line with his contractual obligations. No cloak and dagger stuff on his part. Ultimately, he's in his rights to take better opportunities when they come along. Just like it's in the clubs rights to sack him if they decide they want someone else. They've had a PR nightmare here

Nice to finally watch a game without a stupid defensive error. Definately think a new left back and keeper has played a part in this. Kovacic was a class above in his short time on the pitch also

I still think their were some positive signs in the game. He played a well under strength team yesterday and we still managed to dominate for about 60 minutes of the game. I genuinely believe we would of gone on to win the game had Zouma not gave the penalty away.

Just seen a video of the altercation between Luiz and Higuain. Deliberate elbow by Luiz in the face of Higuain who was just closing him down. It wasn't really an "altercation" as such but I'm surprised Higuain didn't make more of it to be honest. Don't really know what Luiz is playing at.
