Does anyone think that mourinho would have considered coming to Chelsea if he hadn't been given carte blanche to buy any player he wanted?

You've only just tumbled that have you.he's never been a good crosser. His club like right foot is too inconsistent.His effort in the 72nd minute sums him up in this regard for me.

for me when talk of modern day legends starts who will be and whatnot his name doesnt spring to mind and not because he's a defender either (John Terry?) but because his impact on the club and the team has not been as significant as the obvious ones imo lampard, terry, drogba, cech, carvalho,essien, makalele. What cements these names for me as future legends is the quality they displayed in their positions. I dont see that with Ivanovic.

Interesting you say that about the back four as in my opinion ivanovic didn't do nearly enough to be considered motm.the other three contributed more.not too many have voted for him either.

We need a better option long term.someone with a bit of pace for a start.this season we are coming up against younger midfielders snapping at our heels.tiote is the type (though not necessarily him)of holding and central midfielder we need in my opinion or wanyama.when mikel and Matic get turned they are way too slow to recover.

So Jody Morris joins the growing list of ex Chelsea who have been suggested over the years for the role. lets see we've had Dennis Wise, Gianfranco Zola, Steve Clarke, Brendan Rogers, Paul Clement, Gus Poyet. I know Ivanovic is a seasoned player and some say a legend(not me personally) but even if he turns his form around I think he's done.The latest wing wizard to make him look like a rookie Tadic ffs was having fun against 'our best right back'. How much worse does he have to perform ? this latest pearler about baba being too short really calls mourinho's credibility into question for me,and let's not start the 'he sees them all at training crap either. He's supposed to have great man mangement skills well lets see them!

If he never played right back again I'd have no problem with that.got caught upfield again on a few occasions but this is nothing new.he's just as stubborn as mourinho in my opinion.he needs to modify his game instead of trying to play the hero bombing forward as often as he can.I actually think that he thinks he's good at it.

Not everyone. I've never rated him as highly as others might,especially going forward, but I think the goals have gone to his head. He is obviously under instruction to get forward but surely he's savvy enough to know when it's one foray upfield too many. the amount of times he gets caught upfield trying to make his way back to his real position (because after all he's not a winger is he?) after an attack breaks down really s*its me.

He's not much of a wing back either in my opinion though some would say he is as effective as say Kolarov for City. Thing is his crossing is inconsistent and he hardly ever beats his man going down the wing.Worse than Bosingwa ever was in my opinion. Just because he scored a few important goals it must have gone to his head. This is not a knee-jerk reaction from me .I have always thought he was overrated(same as Ashley Cole). It really s*its me seeing ivanovic lose possession when attacking and being caught up field not having the energy or pace to get back.If he plays against Everton and has a good game that still wouldn't convince me that he should remain an untouchable,that would just be four stinkers and one good one.He needs to be dropped.

And that would be hypocritical. Last season Courtois was dropped if he made individual mistakes. He should go back to basics and concentrate on defending rather than trying to be a winger and an ordinary one at that.

I actually dont have a problem with cfcnet, none whatsoever. On all the sites I've visited you will get opinions you dont agree with,and some informed opinions that are very insightful.
