Just one excerpt

"That is unfair because I wanted to keep him. And he told me it was not in his personality to be competing for a position in the team. He needed a team where he knows he can play every game. He needs to know that he is important. He did not want a team where he thinks am I playing or not? He needs that trust, he needs that quality. He needs that security"

Seems to be a common issue with some young Belgians. By most accounts this is why Lukaku wanted to go as well. Witsel didnt come to personal terms with us. Wouldnt it be funny if he felt the same?

De Bruyne will be a masterful footballer but if that attitude doesnt change he'll always be a big fish in a little pond

I don't think i'd stereotype all Belgian players as being weak just because KDB didn't want to fight for a place.

There is no evidence of Lukaku or Witsel being the same, nor any other Belgian for that matter.

He will never play for a big club if he won't accept losing his place when his form is poor.

That's a shocking attitude for a young player and now I'm glad we got rid.

said it at the time that one look at his instagram had me decided on his character. call me judgemental but at the end of the day, instagram is an outlet for him to portray his personality and connect with the fans.

Plenty of pictures of him throwing gang signs in da club, sitting having lunch in LA with models, "chillings with this dope rapper" in the studio being a caption that stood out for me, and very few of him actually training, or showing his appreciation for the opportunity that he was given. People slated me at the time and said things like "he's young, what do you expect?"... answer - i expect a young player to be prepared to give his all for chelsea, to sacrifice EVERYTHING for a place in the team and not take it for granted, to be willing to work for the good of the club and to take the chance that millions of kids around the world dream of. NOT to be out poppin' bottles in da club like some kind of f**king rockstar then bitching when they dont get a first team start.

from what mourinho has said, his attitude is utterly stinking and our other young players seem to be more reserved than kevin de bruyne. toxic for the dressing room - im convinced that long term he would have soured an otherwise tight-knit unit. Mourinho doesnt like big egos. He likes grafters. De Bruyne is not a grafter.

as zola said - good riddance.

I'll take issue with you here.

He has never bitched about Chelsea or Mourinho, as far as I know. If he was complaining to the gaffer that is perfectly within his rights.

He was a young player with enormous potential that we bought, then sent on loan for a year and a half. That probably didn't please him as he signed for Chelsea, not to be shipped out on loan. He was an international, he wasn't a teenager. Even so he went on loan and did very well. Upon his return he probably expected to play, to be given a run, to be given a fair crack. He is not some two-bit player. He started against Hull, his debut, on the first day of the season, he was man of the match, two games later he was out the side and hardly got a look-in after that.

He made the right decision for his career, a brave decision that a lot of other players would have shied away from. Big club in London, big money, the most popular league in the world, he wasn't happy, because he wants to play. He's gone to a less glamorous league, a less glamorous club and proven himself. He's gone away and done the hard yards and he's earned himself the big move, and good luck to him. He wouldn't be where he is today if he hadn't played every week. You need to play to develop, you need to play every week. He's gone, he's played, he's developed, he's a top player.

He could have gone around acting the gangster, saying I play for Chelsea, I play for Mourinho, I earn this amount. Instead he went to Wolfsburg. Does that sound like a flash player to you?

He doesn't deserve a slagging he deserves respect, and we all know, in the bottom of our hearts, we could do with him right now on our right flank.

I'm not blaming Jose, he's been vindicated, he doesn't want unhappy players, a tight group means a winning group, as been's proven, but De Bruyne's been vindicated too, make no mistake about that.

I see a young player expecting/requesting he starts games at a club our size as being pretty disrespectful to the squad as a whole.

You can't just walk into one of the biggest teams in Europe and expect to start games when your form is not good.

Look at the likes of Drogba who came in and was benched when not at it, he didn't kick up a fuss but choose to get the head down and play his way into that starting line up.

De Bruyne is a talented lad make no mistake but his attitude will never be welcomed in a close tight group of winners...not in a million years.

Good riddance IMO.

Spot on

There are to many spoilt f**kers in today's game and they don't wanna work for something. Not one player had a God given right to start a game because he feels he should. Everything is earned and much like Lukaku we made the correct decision no matter how well De Brunye may do.

Sounds like an excuse to me. He just wants to prevent looking like an idiot when De Bruyne becomes a star at Man City but it's already to late for that.

What??!!

I doubt Jose would just start 'making stuff up'

You don't get to the top of the manager tree gaining the respect of people if you 'tell fibs' about players.

Surprised to see you hold this view, thought for sure you would be on the other side.

Absolutely spot on regardless, couldn't have put it better myself.

Did anyone know that he's already wrote a book about himself?

Also remember there was that falling out with Courtois about Courtois going off with his girlfriend? De Bruyne used the book as a way to slag her and Courtois off...He kind of missed out that he cheated on her with her best friend and threatened her with legal action if she told anyone about it

Indeed, Beerqueen.

A storm in a glass of water.

'Seems to be a common issue with some young Belgians.'
