Kevin De Bruyne

Kdb will play on the right wing most likely. I don't see them moving silva to the left. They wanted to replace navas with someone and kdb would be that person. Still think that it's a ridiculous amount of money and wages though.

Mourinho on Kelvin De Bruyne

"With De Bruyne, if you have a player knocking on your door and crying every day he wants to leave, you have to make a decision. At that time, Chelsea did well," Mourinho told reporters.

"If De Bruyne stayed here, not happy and not motivated, and we'd sold him after a year, we'd have got less - 50 per cent less than we sold him for. So we sold him. At that moment, it was very good business.

"If somebody comes and pays for him what somebody would pay for Messi or Cristiano, it looks from the eyes of the world that it's bad business from us.

"But, if he was at Chelsea and not at Wolfsburg, he wouldn't have reached this level. It was like a wall, a block. He was not ready to compete. He was an upset kid, training very bad.

"He always said he had trained well in his life, but he needs motivation to train well by playing every game. Andre Schurrle a bit the same."

Mourinho also believes that the decision to oust De Bruyne has been vindicated by the rise of Eden Hazard, who has flourished during his three years with the Blues.

"If you think it [De Bruyne's sale] is my mistake, then it's my mistake that Eden Hazard is worth more than £100 million," he added.

And so far from being the one that got away, Kevin De Bruyne - during his time at Chelsea - was a whiny little bitch bleating about not getting everything all his own way, who was not putting the effort in, not willing to compete. The decision to sell was therefore clearly the right thing to do for the club and for De Bruyne.

On the subject title. Do I wish him luck? As a Man City player. No of course i don't.

Shame his attitude stunk, as he was a ready made replacement for Lampard. Gets lots of goals and assists and has a great long range shot on him.

Silva - KDB - Sterling

-------Aguero

Not a lot of work rate there with Toure behind as well, but if that clicks..

Although I thought they had a good balance there with Navas keeping the width but based on our match, maybe they see Sterling doing that job.

The only person there who doesn't track back is Silva, Sterling plays like a fullback with his defensive workrate and KDB naturally drops deep similar to Oscar.

Another one that is Over-Rated. Very good technically, but not sure is up the speed of the PL. Was quite happy with the price we got.

£50m is a joke price.

Premature. He was one of the best players in a league where Bayern Munich plays. Great prospect but wasn't willing to fight for Chelsea. No hard feelings.

If he does become an undisputed success in the league then so be it. It's not like we forced him out. We made a profit on him and at Wolfsburg they allowed him to develop. He clearly didn't want to be at Chelsea anymore so nothing we could have done. But part of me still imagines him playing the Lampard role.

Maybe, he has a lot of similar traits to Lampard, though he'd ideally be playing in a different role.

I really liked de Bruyne and was gutted when he went but Mourinho's explanation will do me (at leaset he has given one) and as much as I can see Mourinho's point, I can see KDB's as well...he had the belief in himself and if that belief had have had him really take his chances (the few he got) we may not be discussing it now.

Sad thing was I remember him having a good game against Hull and then against UTD he got an elbow in the nose from Van Persie, I don't know if that contributed but he had a poor match then and that was almost the last I remember.

He has improved at Wolfsburg and now people are starting to see the player he believed he was, it's nobody's fault it didn't happen here apart from maybe his over confidence.

I do wish him well in his career but hope he doesn't set the prem alight with City.

When people say the competition is ruthless on the level we operate KDB is a perfect example of it. One off day and maybe a bit of backtalk to the manager and you don't play. That just emphasizes the professionalism shown by players like JT and Frank going about their business week in week out at the highest level.

I just have no time for KDB same as I don't with Lukaku, you work for something don't expect it. I'm glad we got rid.

Whilst I partly agree, I love a player with a bit of ego and arrogance. Someone who knows they're too good to be messing around on the bench and in rotation.

Fair play to him I say.

Nah.

Players wait for their chance.

Drogba for example, he didn't act like a spoilt little sod but instead waited and took his chance when it came and the rest is history.

The best players on the planet, I.e Ronaldo and Messi would not hang around too long in the same circumstances.

KDB will be the biggest regret we have. Only time will tell I suppose.

LOL

KDB was nowhere near those kind of players at that time (and still isn't.)

That's a ridiculous comparison to make.

Know what. To save you hours of time, I'll explain.

When I said that, and I quote "I love a player with a big of ego and arrogance. Someone who knows they're too good to be messing around on the bench and in rotation" - means he clearly holds himself in high regard and too good for that. He is now proving that he was correct. He obviously believes himself to be one of the best players in his position in the world and is now going to potentially move for one of the highest transfer fees in history.

This obviously wasn't my own opinion or a reference to him being as good as Ronaldo or Messi. To think that would be lunacy. Having the belief that he was going to be one of the best is admirable and fair play to him.

Read over and over until you understand what I said and reply again please. Thanks.

Erm I did...

You compared KDB's situation at Chelsea to what Messi or Ronaldo would do in the same circumstance...

If you think a young player should come here and demand to play when we already have team full of winners who are of a high standard then I think that's very unrealistic.

If he wasn't prepared to wait and merit his place then that's not our mistake at all.

If he thinks he's good enough then why not?

He has now proven that he is good enough and only going to get better. Done nothing wrong in my opinion and has massively bettered himself.

I don't agree at all.

Neither did the best manager in world football, you don't just stroll into the best teams in Europe...you earn it.

He didn't want to stick it out and 'EARN' it. Admirable?

Nope.
