Kevin De Bruyne

An argument can be made for it, not one I'm interested in making though as it wasn't really my main point.

Jose says a lot of things.

Again, KDB didn't think he could walk into the team without working for it. He just wanted chances to prove himself. They won't pay him 250k, Aguero is their highest earner and he's on less than that. He would most likely be on the same wages as Silva and Sterling, somewhere between £150k-£180k.

"Allofs would not confirm the scale of personal terms City have offered to De Bruyne, expected to be around £250,000 per week, nor the fee Wolfsburg themselves are negotiating, but said the impending sale illustrates the financial power of the Premier League compared to the Bundesliga"

From theguardian story.

Wanting a chance to prove yourself involves more than just getting game time. Good deal for both parties, lets leave it at that

What do you expect Jose to say? Off course hes gonna say he didnt train well enough. No manager worth his salt is gonna admit to being wrong like that. You think Fergie will ever admit he f**ked up with Pogba?

Do I think KdB will ever "mark a player out of a game?". No. But I expect other teams will try and mark him. Hes not a defensive midfielder ffs, he scores and creates goals. Lots of them. But I guess we dont need that. We would rather have players that can defend

Haha, boiling it down to simple terms but yes we need players who can defend

You mean one of the best in Germany. I guess we'll see if he can do the same in the PL.

He is pretty good for Belgium too usually there best player. I can't forgive Mourinho for this one he messed up in my opinion. Its alright though we still have Oscar .

Personally I don't think we messed up at all. We tripled the money we spent in 2 years by selling a player not in first team reckoning, Yes his price has tripled again but that's down to him being given a platform where he is the important player in the team, where everything goes through him, making him the shining light, yes he is a very good player but that isn't what Chelsea want or need it isn't even what City need.
At Chelsea KdB would never have that licence and importance to play the role he does at Wolfsburg and therefore his value would pretty much be where it was when we sold him, people look at the fee and the season he had and say selling him was a mistake, he would have never had a season like the one at Wolfsburg for Chelsea and would never have had the ridiculously inflated fee he has now.

And he still don't even think he'd be in our first 11 for me putting KdB in the Chelsea team ahead of Oscar would make us a weaker team, where as you put Oscar in the position that KdB has a Wolfsburg I'm pretty sure he'd have an equally good season stats wise. So can you have someone worth £57m sitting on the bench we sold Mata who was better for that very reason is deBruyne better than Mata was that's questionable.

And I'm not worried about his move to City as I'm not sure he fits in properly as I believe that playing Silva and KdB in a team might just struggle although I'd probably have KdB at CAM ahead of Silva but thats just personal preference and I know many would dis agree. the only way I see them both playing is if they play 2 CAMs and that would mean the LM and RM would have to defend properly as well as Yaya not sure you can really expect that of any of them all though this would look frightening.

                    KDB      -     Silva

   Sterling      -       Yaya      -    Navas

I think the question is if de bruyne was bought for 25m the summer jose came back, would he have been given more opportunities to play?

Imo it's a categorical yes. He started 2 prem games, 1 of which he was motm. Then he only really got a few games in the league cup which he didn't play too well, although I'm not sure whether league cup form is an indicator of whether a player is good enough. The early rounds can lack intensity, so its closer to pre season than premier league.

He should have given more opportunities in the the league, and probably should got a little more leeway considering he was moving to a new country and culture, and he was a young and possibly a little immature.

What's done is done though, Mourinho didn't fancy him, he may go on to be a world class player for city, but the are plenty more fish in the sea, we won the league last year without him, and I'm sure we will win it again in the time he is at city.

Onwards and upwards.

LMAO they will not line up like that far too attacking. Agains't any half decent team they will get ripped to shreds.

Isn't that basically how they lined up against us, except for KDB? I seem to recall it was us who got ripped to shreds...

No, I'm pretty sure they also had Fernandinho in midfield againt us.

Was there not such a thing as Financial fair play at one point in the last few years, or was just a joke? I know we've spent money in our time but I just don't think it's right that in one window you can buy two players for £58 and £49 million respectively

City have just spent over £50m on a player who asked to leave us cos he couldn't hack the competition and not being guaranteed a start...they don't even need him...totally mental

An outstanding talent with a deadly end product with either foot.

He will be going straight into my fantasy football squad.

City will score well over 100 goals this season, and he will contribute significantly. Im guessing 15+ assists and 10+ goals.

Oscar and Willian will cover more distance though. And ultimately thats what counts in football.

We might not end up winning the league, and we might not play the most exciting type of football, but you can bet your ass our players will run a lot.

Ill tell you now - If lewis baker is given the chance, the platform and has the right guidance he will be double the player KDB is..

Take that to the bank (but don't forget all my caviats)
