  1. If only we could have signed him. His only flaw of sorts is that he likes to fall easily.
  2. Ozz, I think that's why Jogi has been giving Klose 15 or so minutes for each match. He knows that Klose needs that confidence and match fitness in case we have any issues with Gomez. It also ensures that the team isn't unfamiliar when/if Klose needs to be the striker for the majority of the match. So far the only real issue is Podolski (even our defense has been pretty solid with Hummels filling a gaping hole). He's just invisible out on the wing and it's making our attack one sided. Both scores against the Dutch came from the right side, partly because of the Dutch's weakness but partly because our left side just hasn't been there. Heck, Lahm has been more of an attacking threat than Podolski so far. Löw does have an unflappable faith though in those that he thinks will carry the team to where they need to be. It wouldn't shock me to see him ride it out with Lukas on that LW.
  3. There have been too many lives lost due to that real fighting. This is my brother-in-law's second tour and he's just had a little one. So we're definitely on pins-and-needles like everyone else who knows or has a family member over there. It's just not a good situation and I know we're not alone. I'll admit I'm being sensitive but aren't we all being a bit over the top when we're just discussing a player and the opinions on that player?
  4. I'm sure I'll get flamed for this, but I don't care. My brother-in-law is in the military currently in the sh*t fighting the Taliban. Can we not refer to the Torres "crew" as "Taliban" please? It's not clever and it's not funny. It's quite frankly insulting to me. I read this and it brings up the reality that he could have a turn for the worse and not come back.
  5. I think Schurrle will be out on the left wing very shortly. However, I expect to see Müller continue on the right. I completely agree with Klose, but right now Gomez is doing what we thought he would do in the World Cup. If Löw were to bench him for Klose now, after scoring three goals in two games, that would completely destroy his confidence and effectively be the end of Gomez's productivity in this Euro.
  6. Unless there's an upset, I expect to see the Greeks play the Germans. And that should be the end of the Greeks. However, they play the games for a reason. We need to get past the Danes first, and that won't be an easy task. It'll be interesting to see what Löw throws out for a lineup. Lots of talk about him possibly resting folks but we haven't qualified for the quarters yet.
  7. I know that AVB has to do what's best for him, but I just don't like him being there at all. And that's coming from the perspective that I'm extremely happy that we have RDM in charge. I just don't like seeing an ex-Chelsea manager at the Spuds. I don't care if he was terrible or not for us. It's the f**king Spuds. It just doesn't get any more insulting from a Chelsea fan's perspective. I wish he would have gone elsewhere so I could have wished him the best of luck. At the Spuds, I wish him to drag them to nothingness, and that certainly won't help his career.
  8. He's the equivalent to Schweinsteiger for Bayern. He's the engine that makes the vehicle move.
  9. This was a pretty clinical performance by the Germans until the 60th minute or so. There was a lot of talk about the heat but I think Germany just started to get too comfortable. The strike by RVP certainly killed that and they got back to what they do well. Why they gave Schweinsteiger so much space in the middle was beyond me. I'm not complaining, but it was easy for him to pick out Gomez. Gomez did his job and finished. That's what did the Dutch in. Things could have been drastically different if the Dutch would have connected on a few very early chances.
  10. Excited to have RDM get the permanent job! I know there was a lot of talk about what we thought he should get for a length of contract, but I see the two years as a nice compromise. It's not the short one year where he thinks the rug might get pulled out from under his feet and it's not a longer three or four year where if something goes drastically wrong that we're out a lot more cash. I think it's a great move, and it's nice to have Robbie leading the ship. In RDM we trust!
  11. That's one heck of a prediction Ozz. From my perspective, I hope you're right.
  12. I think this is going to be a draw. I don't suspect Germany will play as flat as they did against Portugal but the Dutch will be really fighting hard for a victory. I believe this will be a tight affair but will break open after one team scores. 2-2
  13. He wants more. He wants to win more CL trophies. He wants to win more trophies in the Prem. He wants sexy football. He simply wants more. We accomplished what many would have considered impossible. I can't imagine Roman settling for just that one CL trophy. If we can win the CL, we should be able to compete everywhere and I think we'll get back to it. He's like the kid that just had his first taste of his favourite food. Not only does he want more, but he wants a lot more of it. Now how we do this while trying not to spend a f**k-ton of money is going to be the trick. And quite frankly, maybe Roman doesn't care about that unless FFP really does stick and we get hammered by it.
  14. ESPN article bashing Torres: http://espnfc.com/us/en/news/1094384/fernando-torres%E2%80%99s-downward-spiral-continues-.html I didn't get to watch the match, but certainly it couldn't have been as bad as Jeff Carlisle is making it out to be. Could it?
  15. Putting Özil or Götze out on the wing is not their optimal position. Lukas didn't have his best match but normally he's a lot better than that. The best passer of the ball that we have is Özil. He is an outstanding creative midfielder. Unfortunately for us, he seemed to float outside on the wings a ton this match and it caused the flow in the center of the pitch to be quite off. I think this was because our wingers were just not able to get through Portugal's defenders (and that's a compliment to Portugal, they defended really well). The starting 11 was correct, the execution on the final third is what was poor. We didn't go out and attack like I've seen before. I believe Löw will change that mentality a bit while still maintaining their discipline. Hummels, a late pick, was our MOTM.
  16. Not the Germans' finest performance, that's for sure. However, teams need to win when they're not at their best and that's what Germany did. They will need to step it up against the Dutch after Denmark beat them. If Germany plays like that again, they will lose and have to rely on beating Denmark to go through. I expect to see Löw make some changes and you'll see a Germany that will do better in the final third next game.
  17. Good day 1 as far as the opening matches are concerned, unless you're a fan of the Czech Republic. Their defending was just awful. The officiating was also awful for the Poland/Greece match. The matches today should be really good to watch.
  18. I like it. I might have to snag both a home and away kit for this year.
  19. I think, for the Czechs, Rosicky is going to be the catalyst. Obviously having our Petr in form is going to be a huge advantage but Rosicky will be the driving force. Baros should also be a threat to score. That might be just enough to get them through. Second place is surely up for grabs though, I can't say I'm super confident in picking the Czechs to take second.
  20. Not sure if Poland is going to make it out of the group stage. I actually believe it'll be the Czech Republic that will pull through. Italy is a mess. After the whole talk about the national team possibly missing the Euros, I wouldn't be surprised if Croatia takes runner up in Group C. I believe the final will be Germany/Spain (again). And I agree that Germany will win the whole thing. If they meet Spain in the finals they certainly have the talent to beat them, they just need to mentally get over that roadblock. Germany's only weakness is their back 4. It can be exposed. If Löw can keep them organised, Germany should prevail.

    That's brilliant Gem!
  22. None of these videos, pictures, or comments are getting old. I've watched them at least a half-dozen times. What a historic night for our club. Even typing this made my heart beat a little faster with joy and anticipation for what's to come.
  23. Nice video Amp. Did anyone notice the Bayern fan that took a picture of our guys piling up on each other right at the end? I laughed at that.
