Just read on Italian and Portuguese sites that AVB has agreed terms with Spurs.

Seems like a step down for him, or maybe he wants to re-build the team, and with them out of the CL it would be less pressure.

What does everyone think??

Am i the only one who feels avb was given a bit too much stick...He came with orders from above, and it didnt work..Not that it would never work. Just that the PLAYERS decided it shouldnt work. I hope he gets a good job somewhere whether it be at spurs or , well , anyone really...Nobody is going to beat us next season ,

I think he could be a great manager, he just tried to do too much too fast at Chelsea and lost the dressing room as a result. I was hoping he would go somewhere outside of England so I could root for him to succeed.

I for one was'nt excited when he joined us,but felt he did have a bit of a bum deal,he will probably do well at spurs, but hopefully not well enough to stich us up

Im sorry but i hate that...LOST THE DRESSING ROOM stuff....In my opinion players work for the company, ie Chelsea...They should do as they are asked..(and) do it as best they can...When i am told the dressing room is lost i go f**king mad coz what that means to me is that players decide themselves that they do not agree or like someone or something and put the teams results in jeopardy because of this....I love JT Lamps etc like the next Blue ...but............Anyway the end result was good so i suppose that is good enough for us all to understand...

Honestly didnt like the hire, at all. Thought he was massively overrated. His stint here did nothing to convince me that hes a good manager. I think hell tank at Spurs

anyone who treats frank, alex and anelka with the lack of respect he did must have a huge question mark against him...showed real lack of intellect as far as i'm concerned...man-management is the basics and he failed big time...robbie showed what could be achieved with the squad if handled properly...if he goes to spurs he will be under less pressure, but no doubt it's a massive step down from the chelsea job

We don't know the full story, but respect is a two way street. How do we know that Alex, Anelka and Frank didn't show lack of respect to AVB first? I don't think we know exactly what went on at the club during AVB's reign. Maybe he was all to blame, but I wouldn't count out the possibility that some of the players didn't act totally professionally last season.

Not really happy about this. If the knock against him at Chelsea was that he couldn't handle big personalities. At Spurs there isnt the same kind of experience, just a lot of young players passing through. Similar to his situation at Porto.

Plus whatever happened during his time here I still like AVB the person. His involvement in football is a great story in itself, and to me he is still a likable guy.

Also from Tottenham's side, this is a massive gamble.

Losing Redknapp they are already taking a step back, and are now hiring a manager who will probably talk about a "project" and long term success. If his season goes as bad for Spurs as it did for us, he will get the sack there too.

I don't feel much either way. I'm wondering what the y*ds make of it.

At the least it'll be interesting to see how it works out for him, and maybe we'll find out what 'might have been' if we had persevered with him.

Think he will end up being a great manager, wrong team wrong time.

Fact is the guy is 34 and a top rated football manager despite never having played the game, he had a dream he want after it and he got it. Have to respect that, but at spuds i wish him nothing but the worst (in football terms)

I actually have a feeling he will do really well at Spurs. Spurs are already built for attractive football which suits his managerial style and I think there was a lot more pressure at the Chelsea job since his focus was to get rid of the senior players.

I know that AVB has to do what's best for him, but I just don't like him being there at all. And that's coming from the perspective that I'm extremely happy that we have RDM in charge.

I just don't like seeing an ex-Chelsea manager at the Spuds. I don't care if he was terrible or not for us. It's the f**king Spuds. It just doesn't get any more insulting from a Chelsea fan's perspective.

I wish he would have gone elsewhere so I could have wished him the best of luck. At the Spuds, I wish him to drag them to nothingness, and that certainly won't help his career.

He's so far removed from Redknapp's style of management/coaching it's untrue.

Assume he'll get the money from the sale of Bale and Modric to get his own players in and build his own team.

Might work and it might not. I know where my money is
