I don't think that. Although I did once spend half a party learning set theory.

Transfers - summer 2010
Something I've been thinking about is our strength in depth if we sign, say Aguero and Silva, my idea of who we need. I'll show that we could put together 3 teams, in 3 varying formations and see where they stack up against other teams in the league. Drogba Aguero Silva Lampard Essien Mikel Cole Terry Alex Bosingwa Cech Second string in a 4-3-3: Anelka Cole------------------- Stoch Malouda Ballack Belletti Zhirkov Carvalho Mancienne Ivanovich Turnbull Third team, flat 4-4-2: Kalou Sturridge Kakuta Deco Matic Tore Bertrand Van Aanholt Bruma Ferreira Hilario Seriously that is crazy. First team would be good enough to win the league, our second would be fighting for the Champions league, and our third, would at least stay up. No other side could produce that, but honestly that wouldn't be feasible. I think we need to look long and hard at who is surplus to requirements, personally I see Deco, Ballack, Carvalho, Ferreira and possibly Belletti and Kalou needing a thank you and a ticket to mainland Europe. Our first XI wouldn't be affected by any of those players leaving, so lets look at our second and third teams to see what's left. Anelka Cole-------------------Stoch Malouda Kakuta Matic Zhirkov Mancienne Bruma Ivanovich Turnbull Third XI: Borini Sturridge Tore [none] [none] [none] Bertrand Van Aanholt Hutchinson [none] Hilario Right, so it's a bit thinner, but certainly not weak, although personally I'd feel that without Ferreira, Carvalho and Belletti our back line could do with a boost, so as not to rely too much on the kids. Obviously we want to blood them in, but it's a position where it's far more risky to do so. So I reckon keeping hold of one of them, would be best, as signing someone would put the kids too far down in the pecking order for me. That's just two signings, and six departures, yet we'd still have strength, depth and a greatly reduced average age. We could possibly sign another holding mid to cover Mikel, and maybe a young right back. Neither would be all too necessary though as long as Carlo is willing to trust our youngsters. It really, just depends on how deep Roman is willing to dig into his pockets as much as anything, but yeah. I just felt like putting in my view into the mixer. These massive lists of signings just seem pointless to me, we really don't need that many players... our team isn't too bad ya' know.

Why would we want him, we have Kalou.

Jeremy Paxman love him or loathe him?
So was I. Oh, and I was also going to mention that I like Galloway, I disagree with many of his political ideas, but he can be very good at getting his point across. I remember him taking some sky reporters to pieces, quite nicely, which I enjoyed watching. That doesn't mean I agree with his political stance (echo), it's just he can be funny. I like people who make me laugh, even if they're c**ts... well, in most circumstances, there are some people who are big enough c**ts to stop me from liking them even if they make me laugh... I appear to be going round in circles here and clearly wouldn't do well against Paxman... f**k it.

Man Utd vs Chelsea (Prem) 03/04/10 1245 KO
I don't know why, but I was actually quite confident, so not really. You do have a point, though.

Man Utd vs Chelsea (Prem) 03/04/10 1245 KO
f**k me that was good. How are they complaining about the Drogba offside, and ignoring what they acknowledged as a Macheda handball? c**ts. I'm going on a bender, and won't be sober until monday evening/tuesday morning. We're a massive step closer to the title, 5 more wins and it's ours. COME ON YOU BLUES! Edit- ok, now they're saying that we deserved to win, in the studio.

Man Utd vs Chelsea (Prem) 03/04/10 1245 KO
I only finished work at 19:30, and missed the match completely, so I was trying to avoid news of it, so I could get excited when watching match of the day... some f**ker decides to tell me the score 10 minutes before I leave work... bar stewards. Anyway, should be good. Hopefully I'll get to feel a bit of the tension and excitement, but knowing the score takes away from it a bit. :)

- What midfield players should buy Chelsea?
I think it's too early to be sure on whether he'll improve enough to be top class. He's been in some good form from what I've seen of him this season. Personally, I'd like to see both Silva and Dzagoev in.., maybe Rodwell, although that might be too many. I certainly wouldn't mind Milner or VDV coming in, or perhaps Manuel Fernandes to provide the Essien style burst of pace from midfield. There's a lot of Valencia love going on, seeing as Mata, Silva, Villa, Banega and now Fernandes have been mentioned. :D Just as long as they're young-ish good enough for the top level clubs, and have a little bit of pace I'll be happy.- Chelsea Vs Aston Villa (Prem) 27/03/10 1500 KO
Cheers Abramovich. I had to go out last night for my mates 18th, so missed it. Where do you usually find them, so I don't have to keep asking you, each time. ;)- Portsmouth vs Chelsea (Prem) 24/03/10 1945 KO
I agree with this. I vote it for second best post ever... after your other post which I declared best post ever.... I can't even remember what it was. :P- Carlo's Replacement
My point was more that he hasn't managed a club side in about 7 years which would put him way behind in terms of modern coaching techniques. Not to mention that he's a bit older, and desire becomes a big thing in the later years, which was something that struck me with Scolari, which is why I was drawing the comparison there. I have to admit to a lack of knowledge as far as how he builds a side though, as I didn't have access to Italian football in those days (I wasn't given free reign over the remote).- Carlo's Replacement
Sorry to respond to you in yet another thread, but I do find your posts to be quite similar to my own views, and to be fair, this thread is probably more apt for discussing the future of the clubs. I agree that Moyes would be the clear British choice, but I'm not too sure about how he would cope with massive egos. It might be worth the risk though, as he does have a very good record, especially considering the funds he's been provided with and his record with youngsters. Capello would be an interesting idea, but I dislike the man himself, and don't know much of his record pre Madrid... although he was good there. Lippi I'd say a big fat no to. Lippi would be another Scolari, he's an International manager, so wouldn't have the experience of modern training methods. I'd be tempted to maybe give Quique Flores, currently of Atletico a go. I liked him a lot when he was in charge of Valencia, and he's improved Atletico no end. He's not won anything major and is young, so could well give that extra bit of hunger we need. So yeah, in my view, I'd like either Moyes or Flores... but I doubt either would happen. Having said all that, ideally, I'd still much rather keep Carlo though. Give him the funds to rebuild the squad, and give him a season with it to show what he can really do. We need new players far more than a new manager. Just an injection of pace in the side would be great. Preferably in midfield, or attack. Our defence is reasonably strong, it's just we need more cutting edge further forwards. A creative influence in the centre of midfield, a driving force (Essien back?), just something to get us those points when everything else fails. Inter kept us out way too comfortably, because we lacked spark and imagination... there's only so much a manager can do.- Ivanovic injury
Ah, I see moving players up from the reserves in the same light as replacing. Like bringing up Stoch to replace either Deco or Joe, that sort of thing.- Ivanovic injury
I'd probably agree with that, except I'd add in either P Ferreira or Belletti... possibly both, depending on the availability of cheap replacements willing to sit on the bench as much as they'd have to. Although, I'd be tempted to keep Anelka another season. If we can keep him in his proper position, he can be very, very good. Even if he's a third choice.- Deep clean
CCleaner isn't useless, it's great for getting a bit more space on your hard drive when you need it, but I wouldn't trust it when it comes to someone having access to the actual hard drive is all. Especially if you've done banking on it. Obviously, the risk isn't massive, because the computer actually has to go into the hands of someone who knows what to do, and wants to do some thieving, but I wouldn't like to risk it, myself... despite not having enough money for it to be worth it for them. :P- Deep clean
No, I'm telling you that even if you do reformat your drive, you won't be entirely protected. These programs which have been suggested do more than just format it once. Anyway, I'm not sure what you know of file systems, but the way they work, is that there is a list of directories with where the data is located on the hard drive, and the data itself. When you delete something in Windows, it deletes the directory, not the actual data. This is why it's still recoverable. That includes CCleaner. When you format the drive, it deletes both... however it still leaves artefacts within the hard drive, which can still be read by modern programs. So you need to write over the top of the artefacts, then wipe it. Doing this a couple of times makes it very difficult to recover it. I'm probably going round in circles here, but I think it's quite important that I fully explain this sort of stuff.- Deep clean
No, it's more that deleting them in Windows doesn't properly delete them... you can easily recover the data, through simple system recovery tools. These tools, like DBAN or Eraser, wipe the data, write over it, wipe it and repeat for a certain amount of times... It makes data recovery much, much harder, and the simple tools you can easily find, won't work.... they're the ones your average crook looking for info on you would most likely use... if they're more advanced, that won't work. The top end ones, are so advanced that you'd have to write over it a few thousand times for it to stop them. These can only really be stopped, by destroying the HDD by hand, with a shredder, a hammer, setting fire to it or something like that. Which is what businesses use. Oh and surely they'd have the windows disk? Or at least A windows disk, if not, whoever buys it would have one, or if it's a charity shop, they'd have one too. In fact it's free for a charity shop. DKW - That was probably far more succinct.- Deep clean
I thought he was selling/giving away his computer. To not wipe it, is foolish. It's one of the most common ways for identity theft to happen.- Deep clean
If you're selling/giving away your computer, CCleaner isn't going to wipe your computer. It wipes certain files, yes, but it's far less effective than even doing a plain old format of your C: drive. What Cassiya suggests is the way to go. It's not fool proof by any means, but it wipes it, then rewipes, and again. Which makes it very difficult to retrieve any data... not impossible, but difficult. If you're really worried, just take the hard drive out. It'll reduce the value, but it'll mean there's no way for your data to be stolen. - What midfield players should buy Chelsea?
