  1. Were you expecting or hoping?
  2. Jesus titty f**king Christ! Hopefully he can reproduce that for us!
  3. I believe he's on about Liverpool.
  4. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...E.html?ITO=1490 Not happy if this is true... admittedly it's only in the mail, but still. They actually have quotes for once.
  5. It has that much swearing because that's how people speak. Some characters swear more than others, and they swear more in certain situations and around certain people because that's how it works in real life. Life isn't pretty and especially not in the areas and walks of life they portray in The Wire. Surely that would make you expect it to be a little bit more gritty than your average. Swearing is just part and parcel of it. It's a truly great program, if it can truly be called that, blize, don't be put off by something like that.
  6. It has been worse. A few weeks early is my personal best.
  7. The best place if you want to learn about a player you haven't heard about before is IMScouting.com. They have professional scouts all over the place and it's used by some quite well known football clubs. Like Lille, Anderlecht, Panathanaikos, Olympiakos, Gent, Club and Cercle Brugge, Cluj and Bayer Leverkuesen. It costs a fair bit o' moneys to sign up for the full version, but the free version is fairly useful and good enough for me. This is what they said a few weeks back when Matic was first mentioned. http://www.imscouting.com/global_news_item.aspx?id=2588
  8. f**k! I'd just taken him out of the Chelsea squad on Pro because the rumours had gone so quiet.
  9. 3-0 I see Hull as being weaker than Burnley. I really expect them to go down by some way and reckon we could have a pretty strong win here. I don't see us conceding, even with some defensive issues, but I don't think we've got the strength for a 4-0.
  10. Would that mean Aguero is plan A, Ballack plan B, Cole plan C, Deco, Essien plan E, Frankie plan F, plan G would be beating up the DJ, plan H bring back Hasslebaink and so on? :)
  11. I think Deco is the plan B for that position.
  12. I think the reason we haven't signed a big name is because of Ravi Bopara and Ian Bell. We might as well put all the scapegoats together.
  13. I don't mean to pick on your maths skills, but there's 6 under 25 there, but it's a good point :) Edit - Oh and I'm sure Valencia is 24, not 34, which would make it 7 under 25
  14. DKW solved it. For some reason I thought you were on IE.
  15. I can't be arsed to keep going with this because neither of us will agree, but something has struck me. Only one paper has reported the bid and they don't have a proper source. I've not heard it anywhere other than the times, which is slightly strange in my view. Anyone else think it might just be made up?
  16. So you don't get what I'm saying. It's a position in which we have ample and capable players. Zhirkov is on the left wing, where we have Malouda as the only capable player... I wouldn't class him as ample, would you? In my view 4 centre backs is enough for any top team and we have 5. If we're getting a great offer for a player who is 27, which I would point out is only one year younger than Terry for those talking about age. I really don't see why none of you can get my point f view, but oh well... Just so you know though I've never complained about players leaving for money. I do think your point is a little specious though, I'm not saying we should just sell anyone because we can make a profit. I'm saying if we have players who are equally good and better in the same position and it's a ridiculous offer, which £25m would be we should go for it. We may not be desperate for money as you say, but a little bit extra in the transfer kitty could be just what we need to get in a player like Aguero. We're apparently short in our offer for him, so having a bit more to bid wouldn't exactly go amiss, would it? I do find it strange that I'm the only person to think this is a good idea, but oh well.
  17. I really don't get your point of view on this though... you seem to be of the opinion that we should never make money from players even if it's a player we can comfortably afford to lose because they might be happy where they are. So Sheva is happy right now, should we keep him? Pizarro too, how about we keep him? Teams have to look out for themselves and it's the same for players. That's the way the football world works. Sorry about being so patronising, but your point just doesn't really make much sense to me. I just would really like to see us make a profit on a player rather than losing more than the GDP of most small countries on players like Shevchenko.
  18. I personally rate Ivanovic at the same level as Alex, and that's just behind Carvalho. Surely you can see that £25m is a bit much to turn down for Alex when we have ample cover. Surely a player 'who has never let us down' doesn't mean he's great. He's good, don't get me wrong and I like him, but I think it's a good price. What's wrong with the difference being 5 or 6 million? I don't see your point there. We want £5m for Deco, should we just take nothing and let him go for free because it's only £5m? I accept what you said about age being taken into account when comparing him to Carvalho, but he's not exactly a youngster, being 27. I just don't think he's worth the money being mentioned and think it'd be a good deal. Not sure if it really would reflect on us being cash strapped or not ambitious enough. Does selling Ibrahimovic for as much money as they got make Inter look less ambitious? A good deal is a good deal.
  19. I'd say if they come back with £25m or thereabouts... possibly a bit less, maybe £22m and above we should take them up on it. It'd be a mighty fine profit. It'd leave us with Terry, Carvalho, Ivanovic and Mancienne as our centre back options, which really isn't bad at all. I could see City jumping in with an offer as well.
  20. He seems to have toughened up a fair bit though. After an injury at the start of the season, the doctors found out what was wrong... it's how he runs. They ended up teaching him to run in a different way, which is obviously a very difficult thing to do. He missed the first few games of the season, but after that he ended up making 29 league appearances, which isn't exactly bad for someone who's as injury prone as he's supposed to be. I watch a fair bit of Spanish football and I don't actually remember him having an injury since the one at the start of the season.
  21. I see them winning the Champions league if they keep hold of Robben, I seriously do... which worries me because I'd quite like us to do win it... Him on one wing and Cronaldo on the other with Benzema up front and Kaka behind is far more scary than Higuain or Raul on the left.
  22. Lass is better than Mahamadou in my view. Mahamadou is a bit injury prone and a little stronger on the ball, but Lassana is faster and better on the ball and has a slightly better positional sense too.
  23. It's not how they'll line up though. It's far more likely to be this... OK, it actually will be this. Casillas Ramos Pepe Albiol Arbeloa Diarra Alonso Ronaldo----- Kaka----- Raul Benzema Edited - Good point about Robben, but if he does stay, I'd be very worried about what they'll achieve next year.
