  1. ...did something you would never , ever catch proper fans doing. Im sure you all heard it. At first I thought it was something else, but no there it was, unmistakable. 'Liver-pool, Liver-pool' I would rather die than sing the name of a rival football team, but today they did. I know it was in pure antagonism but name me another set of fans in this country who would do that. On top of that did anyone else notice just how many empty seats their were at the end for the Arsenal players lap of honour ? Nothing beats getting that early tube eh ? Forget the players hard work for 38 games. That new stadium is magnificent but its wasted on those tossers.
  2. Enjoyed your post Just. The support up there on Tuesday from our lads looked and sounded superb and of course you played your part and i congratulate you on this, if i ever meet you again there is a stella with your name on it. We are all gutted and will be for some time. Its part of the deal of being a football fan though i guess. Rough and the smooth and all that. And mine mate. What i wouldnt have given to have been at Anfield on Tuesday.
  3. loz, i dont think that this season has been a failure , not by a long shot - what i meant was that considering his outlay, a certain rich russian might. i think we have every right to question joses methods this season and have every right to ask for a bit more style and class on and off the pitch but to get rid of him this season plainly sends out the message that you have to win either the champions league or the league at chelsea or you are out which shouldnt be the case and will simply mean no-one will want to touch the job with a bargepole and quite rightly so in fat you could argue that we've already sent out that message, after getting rid of claudio in 04.
  4. Mourinho is never going to be the type of manager like Wenger and Red Face to stay at a club for a decade and create what the media like to call a 'dynasty' and whilst i agree that changing a manager just because a team has a year or two without success isnt always the best or indeed the most sensible option we have to take a step back and look at the situation at chelsea with the money invested and the pressure that that creates - ie: failure is not an option.
  5. my take is simple : i can overlook mourinhos post and pre match nonsense and i can overlook the shockingly bad football if we are winning the big trophies which we have done for the past two years. i would of course prefer us to play like brazil 1970 but can overlook that if we win won of the big ones. however, this year (i know its not definite yet) we are not going to be champions and we are not going to end up with the champions league. and so i think we have every right to question jose. some of the sh*t that has come out of his mouth this season (having a pop at the ambulance staff at Reading was the worst) has been awful, i am at the point now where i dread the post match interview. and as for the football, well we all know its crap but the worst thing is the stubbonness to play any other way. for me there were many awful things about tuesday night but the worse was the complete feeling of deju vu and lack of lessons learned from 2005, even if we had won the penalties (i am yet to speak to a chelsea fan who thought we were gonna win them btw) i would have been in 7th heaven naturally but i would have still been slightly miffed as we didnt need to go through all that did we ? that tie shouldve been over at SB. anyway, thats jose. the guy is a legend that is for sure. he brings more baggage than mariah carey on a european tour but thats part of the deal, and like i said if we are winning the big stuff (sorry the cc cup doesnt count) we can live with it, but i think there is every right to ask questions of 'the special one' if we are not.
  6. Loz, welcome back. We won on Tuesday by the way. I too had a pop at Moos and I wont be apologising because and i think he deserved it, silly sod.
  7. dont do it to yourself mate!
  8. Brilliant post Mike. most of all i agree with what you say about proper fans being priced out of SB these days, and i admit that is one area where Liverpools board to need to be commended, they have identified the soul of the club and have never let it go. Compare that to what Captain Birdseye did to our soul, sadly its something i think we have lost forever and will never reclaim. Just imagine the class of 84 on a Champions League Semi final night. You can shove you special Kop atmosphere where the sun dont shine. Now that wouldve been something else.
  9. I know as a chelsea lad its my duty to hate Spurs and Leeds and hate them i do. But there is just something about the shirtburners right now i simply cannot stand. They are utterley obnoxious people. Maybe im judging my summarization from all the Liverppool fans i grew up with who have never been within 100 yards of anfield and all the 'martin from chelmsfords' on talksport but they seem to be so much worse than ANYONE else these days and Lofty your summing up may be right - after all they didnt hate when we didnt win things did they ? Funny that. I guess at this point i should just come out and admit i basically dont like anyone who isnt chelsea (rangers apart). Ive also got special hatred reserved for Birmingham City, West Ham and Gillingham (its a long story)
  10. Not for me Tim. They are number one for me these days , i hate those bar stewards. Self righteous hypocritical tossers. And i wouldve said the same 48 hours ago. Anyway , good stuff Dorset.
  11. I think Lofty sums it up well. However regarding Claudio and 2004 and that f**kup at least he had the balls to admit his mistake(s) afterwards. It takes a strong man to do that. Some of the rubbish Jose came out with on Tuesday afterwards was insulting to Chelsea fans intelligence. However i guess it just his way. What rankles most still about Tuesday is that it seems nothing changed from 2005, Jose learned nothing. However i guess its just his way. I suspect if we are in the same position next year he will still employ the same tactics. However i guess its just his way. He is one of a kind that bloke. Does my f**king head in, but youve gotta love him.
  12. Lofty, why do you do it too yourself? Do yourself a favor mate, turn the radio off and put on 'all mod cons' or something. Talksport should be renamed Liverpool FC radio and its the airwave equivalent of The Sunday Sport.
  13. talking of these penalties did anyone actually think we were gonna win the shootout ? from what i read and from whom ive spoken to i havent heard one chelsea fan say that they were confident.
  14. That wouldve been madness and a total lack of respect to Cech who had played his part it Chelsea being where they were. As for Cech saving pens - he saved one up at Ewood a few years ago but im sure there may have been another.
  15. Yeah happy birthday mate. hope last nights events dont ruin your day too much.
  16. it seems it was rich fans on board and not officals. either way what a horrid feeling of deju vu.
  17. dont know what to think anymore. Some peoples posts are way over the top but also i think we do have genuine reason to question Jose. I love Jose - the guy is a legend, a chelsea legend. He has done so much for us. But its all becoming very frustrating. The senseless rants, the tactics , the football. I wouldnt feel so bad if i felt like he had learned something from 2 years ago, but we havent moved on at all. I dont know anymore, i really dont. It couldve and shouldve all been so different last night.
  18. Like i just said in another thread Nat, i dont really care who wins it now. All i know is that it should be us on the bmibaby and easyjet websites this morning. Just like it shouldve been in 2004 and 2005. If we had been beaten by a team who were a cut above us and if we had played to the best of our ability i wouldnt have minded. But in so many ways last night was awful Again.
  19. To put it simply. I dont care. Its a no winner which ever way you look at it.
  20. im still obviously gutted, but i have to say im just as angry. firstly, and for so long for me this tie was about beating liverpool. or to sum it up - revenge. for a long time id posted about how much i wanted to do to them what they did to us in 2005. but this morning im not gutted we lost to them again, im just gutted we lost. the opponents are irrelevant. i guess ive learnt revenge has no place in sport, and i think its a good lesson to learn. so i congratulate liverpool. they deserved it last night anyway. i just hope their fans show some humility. why im so angry is because we have lost 3 champions league semis in four years to teams we shouldve beaten. 2004 was a massive cock up, lets leave it at that. but last night hurts so much because we simply didnt learn from the same game, at the same stage 2 years ago. blimey, it was like watching a video tape of that match at times. sure we are tired, but they were there for the taking big time. id love to harp on about about a g14 conspiracy. id love to moan about ghost goals. id love to moan about injuries to key players but if we had had riccy at the back or essien or ballack in midfield it wouldnt have made any difference. we would still have played the same. im sorry but we lost this tactically, we couldve buried them last week but we chose to sit on the 1-0 and we couldve gone for them last night but tried to contain. the long ball to DD became embarrassing in the end. i wont harp on about the tactics too much or about jose too much, i guess most of it has been said already and will be repeated all through the day but i cant help but get the feeling it was a pivotal night for 'the special one' .the media are gonna have a field day and jose, im afraid you have to reap what you sow. we've got games against arsenal and man utd in the next week and we've got to pick ourselves up. players and fans.
  21. star mate (welcome back) 150 mins, 120 mins - its irrelevant, it couldve been 6 months and we'd still be banging it up to DD i think the special has done himself some damage tonight.
  22. i agree mod but moos isnt a chelsea fan. he cant be. he is embarrassed apparently
  23. Mate, youve showed your true colours. Go here - http://www.liverpoolfc.com. After all, they've just won. Ive sure there is a forum there.
  24. Ricky wasnt actually missed tonight. If he'd have played the tatics would still have been the same. Kick it to the guy with the deadlocks.
