  1. Anyone else think Azpilicueta has looked excellent tonight overall?
  2. I don't know about happiness but for me the main point is that he doesn't look driven at all any more. At Liverpool you could see his passion every week.
  3. Some refreshing points Egg Man, and I agree with you entirely on Torres and also the perpetual negativity that surrounds us.
  4. Thank you sir, that is exactly how I feel.
  5. We definitely need another DM in January. Mikel will be at the AFCON leaving us with only 3 CM's. Really makes me question why both Meireles and Essien were allowed to leave.
  6. Torres was once again his usual self today giving another underwhelming performance: He lost the ball numerous times and, aside from the odd moment here and there, barely threatened the opposition's goal. Ok, he worked quite hard at times and his link up play was decent, but I'm sorry that's simply not good enough for a player that cost £50 million. Granted, Torres' performance levels are better now than they were last season but IMO he's just not good enough in every sense.
  7. Even though we lost the game - Clattenburg you f*cking suck - to me there were lots of positives to take form that performance. We showed fantastic character to come back, and quite frankly we were far superior to United for the majority of the game. On that evidence we are genuine title contenders for sure, I have no doubt about that.
  8. Never a red card for Torres, but that aside, he had yet another poor performance today. Its so clear to me that Torres is holding the rest of the team back.
  9. Nothing more than journalistic conjecture to me. Drogs had said that he wants to play in China for a few years.
  10. Poor. We deserved nothing. Hats off to Shakhtar who were excellent. We're going to have to be MUCH better to beat them at home, which is essential to our hopes of qualification. Thanks Nordsjaelland!!
  11. We're playing ok. Thank you Cech otherwise it would be 2-0 at least. Just need to keep calm and composed at the back. We haven't created many chances but have had many a dangerous attack fizzle out. There's at least a goal in this for us. Come on CHELS!
  12. What the hell is going on at the back, with the corners in particular? Sort it out JT!
  13. Found this highlight reel of De Bruyne from the weekend. Whilst the stat sheet might only show one assist from a corner, this video shows KDB had a fantastic game. Some of his touches/skills are simply sublime for one so young, and he put in numerous dangerous crosses with both feet. He was playing in central midfield for the most part and it seemed as though the rest of the Bremen team gravitated towards him in possession, the mark of any good central midfielder - notice how often at United the ball goes through Scholes, Xavi at Barca etc. It seems as though he's got the talent to play either in the middle or out wide, so it'll be intriguing to see what position he will make his own. http://vimeo.com/51963855
  14. He's a quality player for sure and would be a slight upgrade on Mikel. He's also at just the right age to make a move to England. However, I wouldn't want him because of his disgusting antics nor do I think there's much value in spending upwards of £25 million on a player who doesn't substantially upgrade the team. I'd rather get someone like Tiote for £15 million.
  15. To be honest he probably doesn't understand the difference between the two terms.
  16. Oh yeah, thought this was quite funny: Adebayor, Adebayooor, He plays on Channel 5, or ITV4!
  17. Was at White Hart Lane yesterday and still feel so great! Just thought I'd give my thoughts: 1) The Game: Brilliant performance by many of our attacking players, Mata is simply superb. Hazard had quietly a very effective game too, and I thought Mikel was different class. Torres led the line very well indeed, but again screwed up 2 glorious chances. He needs to stop thinking so much and just go with his instincts. Cech once again made a huge save when we needed it. Defensively I thought we were pretty good all in all, not good at all though in that 10 minute period. Nevertheless, it was very encouraging to see the composure that we showed after that from back to front. Well deserved win, brilliant performance. 2) Our Fans: As many have noted, our fans were exceptional yesterday. We outsung Spurs for the majority of the game and the noise levels were incredible, particularly when we scored the third goal. I've been away a bunch of times but I've never heard that level of volume before. When we scored the third goal it was like a rave in there!! Utter pandemonium! Some pretty funny chants aswell. To all those of you that were there, great effort lads! KTBFFH 3) Personal Note: I'm delighted to say that that was the first time I've witnessed us win away from home. I've been to Stoke twice, Villa, Birmingham, that QPR game and Wigan. In those games, I saw a grand total of one goal. It's been so desperate that, when Drogba scored at Stoke, guess who happened to be taking a slash at that exact moment? So after all that frustration, I don't think I could have picked a better place nor performance to finally get that first win! Get in there!!
  18. Mata - simply majestic. Best player in England currently. Mikel, Rami, Hazard all fantastic too.
  19. Sky Sports News Sources: JT keeps the captaincy!
  20. Question is, do we have a choice? The Premier League is governed by the FA after all. I fear that the club may be handcuffed in this. However, does it really matter if JT doesn't have the armband? He's still a leader on the pitch and the marshall of the back four. I've always felt that whoever holds the armband isn't really that important. A player's character will come out on the pitch no matter what, and I don't think that the absence of a rubber band around his bicep is going to deter JT from being a vocal leader at the back. If you cast your minds back to the World Cup in South Africa, JT had been stripped of the captaincy for the Wayne Bridge affair. But he still applied himself in the way that he always does and put in some heroic performances.
  21. City and United will be there at the end of the season without a doubt. Neither have started the season very well, so for us to have any chance, its imperative we pick up as many points as possible now. We will have a dodgy spell at some point, so to have a buffer of 6/7 points could be significant. I think Arsenal will finish in 4th but I don't see them as title challengers at all. Before the season began, I thought we'd be up there with the Manchesters but then we'd fall away around April time. I still think it's likeliest that we will finish 3rd, but if we can avoid injuries, keep Torres firing and see more development from the new signings, then we'll have every chance.
  22. And that is exactly why Man Utd are perennial title contenders. Regardless of whether they win any trophies or not in a season, they will always add 2/3 quality players to their squad.
