I don't see what's wrong with that, rebounds count. I find assist stats really interesting myself so it's annoying when there are so many sites (even the well respected ones) that fail to adhere to the definition of an assist. Either do it properly or don't bother at all.

They all have their own ideas on what consists of an assist rather than actually following the proper definition.

Different situation, they barely have any strikers as it is. If Chelsea got in first, loaned him straight away instead of messing around like they did with Josh then they would probably not worry too much about buying strikers (creating competition) and just focus on their defence and/or backup wingers.

Not to mention that Johnson is sh*t.

I would actually like to see Rafa get the job to be honest, probably alone in that thought though. No one mentioned so far really filled me up with confidence apart from Jose but he's not leaving anytime soon.

Even without the youngsters there's still enough players for that role. Someone said Modric was needed cause he would move the ball around quicker, what they are forgetting is that Spurs have pacey wingers such as Bale and Lennon that allow Modric to be able to make those passes. Also VDV's movement as well is quite clever. Focus on wingers, right back and another playmaker, then you can spend £30m+ on whatever unneeded player you want as far as I'm concerned.

Think you'll find that unless a team is very defensive, like City (They have four world class attackers so the 2 DM's can afford to just sit), Brazil (When they had Silva and Melo) or Inter, then the person playing next to the DM in a 4231 is normally a box to box midfielder. Yeah he can play right back, he started his career as a right back and I even remember a few games where he's slotted in there during matches and looked pretty comfortable. I still think it would be best to play him next to Mikel though, don't see what the fuss is about.

Don't know why you would want Ramires to hold, he's pretty much the definition of a pivot midfielder. He's played next to DM at Benfica and for Brazil so why should that change at Chelsea?

There is no downside, it's just not a necessary signing. Especially not for the price being mentioned. If we really want a pivot midfielder that badly then there are so many other options out there that offer you the same quality but at much cheaper prices.

Don't even need him, would be such a waste of money if he did join. We need proper playmakers like Mata, already have Mikel, Romeu, etc to do Modric's job.

There are plenty of players like him out there (admittedly not all with fantastic crossing like Bale but good enough), Diego Capel for example. Although if we're willing to spend this much on Hazard then might as well add an extra mil or so and get Bale.

Way I see it, if he's coming to England anyway I would rather it was to join Chelsea and not City/United. I don't think he's worth it personally, but if I turn out to be proved wrong well I would be pretty gutted seeing him playing well for City/United..

I really wish we had gone for Silvio before he joined Athletico Madrid. Class player. Anyway, he's definitely not ready for first team football at a top team so it is a bit of a strange move. Really rash and clumsy too.
