  1. John Terry for me as well, and runner-up to Petr Cech, with his excellent assist on our first goal.
  2. I'm with Virosh, and am hoping for an Arsenal win, since ManU is clearly our greatest threat for the title. Ballack was dreadful, and gave up as many dangerous free kicks as Mikel usually does. Zhirkov was bad, and just did not click well with our other midfielders. JT was tremendous, and Alex was very poor. Kudos to Cech, who made a play the reminded me of my all time favorite player, Harold (Tony) Schumacher, with an excellent throw to midfield, that set up our first goal. Burnley deserved a lot of credit for hanging in there, and we were a bit lucky to come away with 3 points. Was Joe Cole offside when he headed it in? Difficult to say, I thought he was well offside when I saw it in real time, and when I saw it on replay, it was certainly close, but he was probably offsides by a foot.
  3. Welcome, Danny. Isn't Ruislip the place where Moi went to recently?
  4. Thanks. That explains why the Shrimpers dumped Sawyer, but it says nothing about why Chelsea terminated their contract with him (unless they don't want to deal with someone who has shown unprofessional tendencies whilst on loan to another club).
  5. I will endeavor to see both of these movies.
  6. Geez, I must be an idiot. Welcome to the forum, Katie.
  7. Does anyone have the scoop on what he did to get disciplined by Southend and to get his contract terminated by Chelsea? Also, is he any good?
  8. Katie, are you 87 years old? If not, what does that signify?
  9. Saw Daybreakers today, and it was an interesting Vampire movie -- definitely not your typical Vampire movie.
  10. Malouda for me as well. Our worst player was Carvalho (if anyone cares), though he was not terrible, just not as good as the rest.
  11. Thanks. I was leaning towards that one, since I love Vampire movies as well.
  12. I agree, Just, this is plain stupid. Why show your hold cards before you have to? I hope that he uses a different lineup than what he has already told the world he will use. My only other thought is that he is playing psychological games, a la Jose Mourinho, in which he is telling Brum that he will defeat them with this lineup, and they cannot do a thing about it. Again, stupid on his part.
  13. It certainly seems that way, but I think it is just a coincidence that their last few matches are being shown on FSC.
  14. The wife and I are going to the movies tomorrow, and we have to decide between 'Daybreakers' and 'The Book of Eli'. Any thoughts?
  15. I kind of lost the plot on that last post, sorry.
  16. I admit to not watching too much Serie A matches this season, but I did watch a bunch last season. I don't know, perhaps it was seeing all of those Brazilians out there, it just threw me for a loop. I will watch any match with Lazio, my favorite Italian team, but they are not being shown much on Fox Soccer Channel (go figure, since they are so far down in the table). I am starting to understand why everyone hated us so much when Jose was in charge here, because everytime I see that smug face on the sidelines, I just want to punch it! Rant over.
  17. I watched the entire match, but I found it incredibly dull. I'm not sure if it is because I am so used to the frenetic pace of the English Premier League, or the high skill level of the Spanish La Liga, but I found the Milan derby akin to watching a chess match, albiet a high level chess match (Kasparov v. Karpov). There was a lot of skill out there, for sure, especially Pandev, but I cringed when I watched players well over the hill, such as Pirlo and Beckham and Lucio and even the one-trick pony Ronaldinho, plod around at super-slow speed. P.S. Don't hate me, Pauly.
  18. Hello, William. The Chelsea fans were very loud during the Preston FA Cup match, and you should be proud of being amongst them.
  19. Welcome, Chelsea_Gal. I need to take a lesson from you in texting, since you seem to know all of the short-cuts in writing (though I have to read your posts about 4 times to understand them).
  20. Those rough-and-tumble days are long over, right, BlueBeard and Lofty? (Oh, I forgot, Lofty is sadly no longer with us)
  21. I like your analysis, Scott. Can't disagree with anything you said.
  22. I just heard that Robbie Fowler is leaving his Aussie club. Please don't tell me that he is going to re-sign with Cardiff City?!
  23. Thank you, Alakuu, for expressing what I wanted to say in my earlier post. These windups just make me MAD! And what's up with his login name, isn't Chelsea in SW6, not WS6? He does not seem to have a clue at all.
