I agree with that but you have to wonder if Jose does. He does, after all, want to get rid of Luiz if you believe the press.

Cause speculation is what we do on here most of the time and the above was my speculation. Just something I could see happen and something I believe we would regret should it happen. We do tend to have a history of preferring to buy the already ready made star player rather than nurturing our own. Though at least Oscar is a recent example of this not being the case.

Well he was at the playoff game today and if he was there to watch Chalobah I doubt he will have been too impressed.

Well there is no point in trying to lower their price but, to be fair, Porto pretty much tell most clubs "this is the price for the player, pay it or p*ss off".

Such a deal would make sense for most clubs, but we are not most clubs. As a few have said here Brana has won the lot, every single major trophy he would care to win. Now going to live in beautiful City like Monaco, a less physical league for his latter years and a big boost to his salary, why would that not be interesting? Likewise when you have Cahill and Luiz, who are very good players who are still improving, and could get 25mill for your near 30 year old CB that you could invest in someone younger why would you not consider it? Again if Jose picks selling Luiz over Brana it is short term focus setting in.

Hazard, Mata, Oscar, Moses and KdB. In our current system that would be enough for me, especially as Bayer are proving hard to deal with it seems. If Jose puts us back to the 4-3-3 though I believe Oscar and Mata would be best served in the middle 3. That is where things might become interesting lol.

Also have to question how long term Jose's commitment will be to the club if he would rather sell Luiz, one of the small few (along with Oscar, Hazard and Mata for me) who should be unsellable unless we receive an insane price for them, than Brana. That sort of sale would be more aimed at short term glory.

25mill? Really we should take that if it is offered. He will soon be in his 30s but to make such a profit after many years of top services is just great business which we rarely see from our club.
