When you're one of the best keepers in the world, you don't settle. Especially not for someone whose only virtue over you is age. If anyone should be on bench role it would be courtois but apparently HE's the one whose too good for it.

When we bought cortouis he wasn't one of the best young keepers, he was an unknown. Goalkeepers peak in their late 30's. Bar injury cech could go on til he is 40. You want to throw him out "if" he declines in 3 years. Maybe if cech was 37 we should be looking for a new number 1, we needed a number 2 and now our option is too good for it. Also, never said i wish we didnt sign him, i said it wasn't needed and put us in a lose lose. Its an ok position but there is no solution that wont be twisted to make us look like idiots. Im just not in the camp to throw out one of the clubs best servants, I rate him higher than cortouis so you can understand my stance.

We classlessly toss out cech hoping courtois replicates his spain form in england, we keep cech and courtois keeps up his form elsewhere. Its lose lose. Alot of people are upset at how lamps is being treated, how would it be worse than throwing out cech as soon as someone who looks like one day they could be as good a keeper, for a little longer. And no, I dont think courtois is as good as cech. Not yet anyway.

While you want to toss out a keeper who has bee instrumental to our success and still one of the worlds top keepers based on someones potential, YOU might have no qualms, but I sure would. And I hope many people would too. All the criticism of lampards treatment, it would be just as bad to toss Cech out based on the cortouis hype. I'm sure we won't have a shortage of people bashing the board for selling Cech when he would go on to be number 1 at any top club in europe.
