I don't think players should be eligible for both. It's stupid. If he is in both lists then he is already qualified as better than all the other young player nominees so what's the point? And when the young player who wins ISN'T the one that was actually good enough to be compared to the 'senior' list of nominees then how does that work ? Bit silly really. Also giggs winning it as like a courtesy win kinda shat on all credibility of the award. The season drogba scored 30+ goals, lamps 20+ goals, and giggs with something stupid like 15 starts wins it.

I don't think so about ferguson either. I don't really think the manager has time to go around looking for players. Perhaps he'll say what he wants, then its up to the scouting network to find these players and then maybe the manager will look at those few. It's up to the scouting network and those back-room people to find players. We got Cech and robben because kenyon brought along uniteds targets with him, and i dont think ferguson was watching dutch league or whatever league cech was in games. Maybe I'm way off the mark but the backroom staff should be capable enough of building a team that a manager can start with and then start moulding in his image. Ours seems somewhat incapable and would prefer a superstar 11 and not a deep enough squad.
