Mod
Anelka for sure. Goal hungry, great finishes! Good games also for Lamps, Stoch and Kalou in spells.
Tim
Nico for me, but Frank was at the heart of everything good we did, so deserves a mention for sure. Anti MOTM goes to the wayward German.
blueday3
For the first time in a while for me, I thought more than a couple players put in good performances, and the team worked pretty well together today. Maybe it is just because guys looked like they were trying today. Now if we can just get Ballack off the pitch.
TheWestwayWonder
score one with the head scored two with the riiiiight nico_anelka made the hornets look sh*te :D I will give an honorable mention to Stoch. He never wasted the ball when he had it and looked very lively. This kid needs a start Edited February 14, 2009 by TheWestwayWonder
mad_mac
Had to be Nico, but honorable mentions to Kalou and Lampard!
coco
Didnt watch the game, so thanks to Nico for the hat-trick, in return you get my vote !
bosnian_chels_support
i ve voted for Frank, he was working very hard, helped in out in the defens and was creating chances! But Anelka is the one who brought us in the next round!
Orangutan
I actually think Drogba was worth a mention, too. He was better in the first half than the second, but he was all over the place creating chances and leading the attack. Kalou was actually driving me nuts this game. Every time he makes a run up the wing he cuts inside rather than driving towards the bylline. But you have to respect his effort. Anelka, though, clearly. Mod
I actually think Drogba was worth a mention, too. Agree, I didn't mention him in my original post but remember him playing some nice passes and making some good moves.
Gem
Credit to Butch Wilkins for realising a 4-4-2 was needed, bringing on Stoch completely turned the game. Anelka for me, but mentions for Lamps, Mancienne and Kalou for their roles. And Ashley Cole for making sure we have no left sided player to mark Ashley Young next weekend, tosser. ethicalstrategy
I voted for Anelka as he scored a hatrick. But I think he must be Trezaguet in disguise because he actually did absolutely nothing for 90 minutes apart from score those goals! The big difference, of course, was switching to 4-4-2 so that we had a bit of width and he had some support. Overall, it was a patchy performance. Guus would have seen our season in microcosm - plenty of possession, slow to move the ball, poor finishing and lack of width - it was all there for him to see. Hopefully he noticed the difference when we switched.
BlueBeard
Anelka for obvious reasons, but Lampard ran the midfield second half.
goose
Anelka for me because of the hattrick, but I thought Ivanovich had a good steady game as did lamps and kalou. mention for Stoch too who apart from his obvious skill and speed seems to be a very intelligent footballer,
Zola's Love Child
Anelka obviously MOTM for his goals, took them really well. No more props needed for him, its pretty obvious he did very well. Mentions to: Didier - Played very well, nice link up play, almost made something from nothing with an acute shot, and looked more up for it. Mancienne - Looked positive going forward, and only caught a couple of times at the back. From his attacking efforts, could well be more of a full back rather than centre back... Stoch - Tried his hardest, and looked pretty good doing it. Lovely crossfield ball to Drogba, ran at defenders, didn't look to greedy, and put some alright pressure on a Watford player during one of their late attacks. Ivanovic - Looked solid, and helped set up the first Anelka goal...impressive. Lamps - Bossed the midfield, in typical Frank style, couple of decent shots. Ballack - Put his kit on, and did little else. Got penalized for a header that I think was fair. Missed a couple of half chances, another poor showing. blueday3
Ballack - Put his kit on Theres no proof of that.
kalpitv
Stoch inspired Chelsea as soon as he came on so I went for him. Anelka was obviously exceptional but I think Stoch helped a lot in making the difference. Lampard, Kalou, Cech and Mancienne put in good performances also. Jimboola69
Giving it to Mancienne as I honestly feel he did as well as anyone. Ballack apparently still feels he is close to signing a new deal (he said last week). Can I suggest he buggers off instead. When a certain Mr Essien returns Ballack is sooo bench fodder...expensive under-performing bench fodder.
Mr Chelsea
i suppose the obvious choice this week is anelka, what a great hat trick, he finaly come good when we needed him i thought kalou was yet again very positive although he seemed to slow down at bit towards the end but manciene gets my vote, i thought he was very assured, positive and fitting in very well, he didnt look nervous, and i dont recall him misplacing a pass or missing a tackle, a great debut performance, he shined in-front of the new boss
Paul Seery
My vote went to Anelka for the hat-trick that he scored but was very impressed by Mancienne and Stoch. Both looked very good and I hope that they start a few games under Hidddink.

TheWestwayWonder
Also, for those stumping for Stoch consider this: He has made four appearances, once in the CL, once in the league cup, once in the FA cup, and once in the league. I recall the one for the CL, he came on and ran a bit but didnt impact the game much. I dont recall the one for the Carling Cup However, I recall both the league and now FA cup appearances well. In both ties, he came on while the team was a goal down, with a combined 23 minutes left in those games. And in those 23 minutes, this team has scored FIVE goals. That fact alone is incredible. Five goals in under half an hour of time on the pitch. And it is not as if he has been a passenger in any of these games. Certainly not against Stoke. I think the academy has really given us a dynamite player.
