Posted May 7, 200916 yr Has anybody got a link to Sounesse's comments after the game ? He had a go at Dunphy last night [Arsenal v Man Yoo ] and put him in his place .
May 7, 200916 yr Souness was brilliant, I expected Ruud to be the one sticking up for us but Souness was in our corner all the way.
May 7, 200916 yr He stopped just short of saying that it was bent, i think sky at the break spoke to the commentaters probably fearing lawsuits because they all seemed to tone it down after the break. Souness was excellent though.
May 7, 200916 yr souness who is normally 100% against us supported us all the way, i dont think he could believe what he had witnessed
May 7, 200916 yr As was Redknapp, but I guess they were only saying it how it was. Very surprised at Ruud, but then he never gave a f**k as manager for us either.
May 7, 200916 yr Please listen to Souness again, whilst for the majority of the time he was fully behind us, I did hear him mumble "but over the 2 legs the best team won through" Once a ratmuncher, always a ratmuncher. In your Liverpool slums....
May 7, 200916 yr Here you go, theres 2 parts. Pretty much shows all the recation after the game. PART 1 PART 2
May 7, 200916 yr i never watched the reaction as soon as the final whistle went i walked out of the room swearing loudly at the cheating ref and slammed the door as hard as i could behind me

May 7, 200916 yr I stated on the Match Thread, Souness was absolutely spot on with his comments. Fair play to him.

May 7, 200916 yr Souness - Top man!!! Got all my respect last night!!! Can't remember his exact words but somthing like...... ''UEFA will be pleased they didn't get an all English final''
May 7, 200916 yr Spot on Mr Souness, I think Ruude was just trying to watch what he says as he knows he has feeling for the club and that could cloud his vision and ability to speak from a neutral point of view and at the same time not go over the top. I love it how Souness mentioned that he has to be careful what he says ? why should he ? I thought we lived in a democracy where you can say what you want, when you want and how you want. We have been well and truly shafted and I doubt anyone will care after tomorrow ! Utter disgrace and what little respect I had for Plattini as a world class player has gone completely out the window. Disgusting disgusting typically continental European behaviour, there still seems to be this minority of snakey Europeans who have something against the Brits and it is outrageous ! ps. No disrespect to the majority of decent continental Europeans !

May 8, 200916 yr And they shouldn't be allowed to Bluenut should they ? This is football not politics and getting emotional after games like that is what football is all about. We want to hear exactly what these pundits have to say and we cannot get the full picture because of the very reason you just posted. How is that democracy I ask you ?

I know mate but this is UEFA were talking about! He was practically 1 sentences from saying the ref was bent, that'd never go down too well with the authorities
May 8, 200916 yr Souness went up in my estimation considerably after watching the post match analysis, it takes balls to call a spade a spade in front of the tv audience, especially considering that he has no ties with the club and doesn't gain anything from it. Jaimie Redknapp was fairly vocal in our support too, probably sympathizing with his cousin, but I was not impressed with Ruud at all. I don't know whether it was an intent to look objective despite being ex-Chelsea but ex-Liverpool and ex-Manc c**ts that dominate the punditry nowadays never bother about it when they try to make their former clubs look good no matter the circumstance.
May 8, 200916 yr Agreed, and it's why I always liked Butch as a pundit, as he was obviously pro-chels.
May 9, 200916 yr Was disappointed in Gullet too! Really disappointed that Chelsea didn't go through - although I'm a Rangers fan I watched the game in a Celtic pub (Client a Celtic fan) and was really irritated that EVERYONE IN THE PLACE was cheering when that Barca team got through! They didn't deserve it - Chelsea should be through to the final!
May 9, 200916 yr For those giving it too Ruud because he wasnt as vocal as the others, keep in mind Ruud's personality as well as the fact that he probably would suffer consequences from really speaking his mind. If Redknapp and Souness were thinking that, I cant imagine what he was thinking. Anyway, the other two get alot of stick for their comments in the press and their punditry, but it felt good seeing neutrals come out and say we were jobbed, not in so many words. I dont think my opinion of one man has changed so much over a simple few minutes as it did with Souness just then
