lots of stuff this morning from hacks all over the place, this one caught my eye and cheered me up. normally he is quite fair and is again here, he gives an interesting insight to the drogba sub and wilkins involvement, not quite sure how got this info though!

Is a good read . If Drogba does get a big ban it will lower his sell on value by a big margin .19,000 tickets for a final is just b*ll*cks

I bet Mr.F from Salford couldn't have wished for a better outcome to the game and it's aftermarth. Any Utd player that falls down in the box will get a penalty as the Ref will be too scared not to give anything ..........

It will no doubt.

But i wonder what his sell on value is ?

Whilst we all understood his frustrations on Wed and appreciated that he showed he cared so much, its still another addition to the list and I think for sure he will be moved on in the Summer. As we all know on his day he is one of the only players in the world who can be considered unplayable but now bearing in mind a possible lengthy ban and bearing in mind his age and that he will only have a year left on his contract what is he worth i wonder ?

I think it will be 10 million absolute tops.

A lot of good sense in there but some crap too.

He suggests that we should be keeping Anelka - nonsense. Even on wednesday, he was the one player who didn't look like he was giving his all, particularly at the end. I'd still take Drogba, for all his faults, over Anelka any day of the week.

If what he says about Wilkins making tactical calls is true then that is just beyond the pale. I think everyone in the stadium thought Drogba went off injured. If it was for any other reason, whether it was Hiddink or Wilkins who made that call, then it was a crass error which contributed to us going out. I'm also very concerned by the fact that we didn't make any substitutions during the injury time period. Both to introduce fresh legs - Essien's poor effort to clear the ball was down to fatigue - and to run the clock down. As soon as Barca equalised Guardiola prepared two subs, one at a time mind. It is on page one of the manual.

On the talk of moving Drogba on and his potential value, I reckon unless Man City want him we'll be very lucky to get anywhere near £10m. That's not me being anti-Drogba its just about the current value of older players, it's fallen massively over the last two or three years and I think that trend will continue this summer. If we could have got £15m for him last year I think we'd have sold him then.

£10m ?!

I'd rather keep the c**t than sell him for peanuts. Say what you want about his attitude but he's still one of the best strikers in the world. Enough clubs took advantage of us in the transfer market in the past.

Speaking of which, did anyone notice Pizarro shining this season for Werder? The Germans certainly lucked out with that loan move.

can we really afford to get rid of him? he wasn't the only player to rant at the ref, jt's cooments, bosingwa's too, ballack's ben johnson impression...why aren't chelsea considering selling them too?...sure he went a bit ott, but it will soon be forgotten...what i don't forget is how chelsea have looked a far better team since he was brought back into it...memories of life under scolari in his last few weeks were far worse

Because they dont have the history that Drogba has.

I agree it will leave a massive gap. It was magnificent seeing how much he cared (just compare that with Adebayor etc on Tues night) and think the guy is an awesome footballer and athlete but i cant help but feel the time has come to part ways. It really has been one thing after another for many years now. i dont care about the way he is portrayed by other fans , i can live with that , I just think we need to move on. Ive never really forgiven him for not apologising for Moscow and his form has generally made me turn a blind eye to the continued histrionics but i honestly think its time.

Im aware many wont agree and Just is going to all over me like a rash for this, but its how i feel , - im sorry!

you always put it better than I could barney.

I was pleased and feel his outburst at the end was a good thing in a way... it was what we all felt.

if it's true that he'll be out of europe for a long time then that's a major problem.

if he were to go it would be a massive, massive gap. one that anelka could not fix- but not totally unfixable... a cold view of things would suggest that for all his workrate, he should have had at least one goal in each leg, and for much of the season he may well not have been at the club.

this would be the last time we could make any real money (no more than £15m, and likely less) on him, and with the injuries and no guarantee of his attitude being good, it might not be the worst time to sell him IF we can bring a player like benzema.

it's true that to play the way we do at our best in the last 3 years or so we need drogba. when he goes, that type of football will cease to be as effective. however, the other players next to him (like kalou and malouda etc) will also be going, it might be a good time to change the way we attack.

Agree with all of that BJD and G4. It feel like it might be time for a proper rebuild and selling Didier for a half decent sum, assuming we are indeed now being run like a proper football club, is probably the best way to raise some funds to facilitate this. As I have said before, the best teams/managers know when to move players on (see Fergie and Roy Keane, van Horseface etc), and maybe now is time for us to prune some of the older players from our squad and allow the new manager (please be Guus, somehow) to build the sort of attack he wants, with the right players.

Didier would go with my best wishes, and I can only hope that his replacement becomes as good a striker he is, but without the melodrama that accompanies him.

I still support his antics on Wednesday 100% though.

I personally think Drogba's outburst was not "shameful" at all. He was outraged by the referee's clear lack of competence which has arguably cost him the one piece of silverware that he wants the most. Everybody watching that match, knew that the referee was clueless and were having similar outbursts at home or in the stadium. Drogba's always been a man led by emotion and he's shown he cares about winning so I don't think what he said was wrong...he is supposed to be a model professional, but can't a professional express their grievences?

The fact that his swearing was aired should have been left up to Sky to bleep out.

Drogba's outburst has been blown completely out of proportion.

But I would say I agree with what Winter said about selling him. I would keep him over any other striker in normal circumstances, but considering the African Cup of nations next year, which will certainly have an impact on us, and the fact that by 2010/11 he'll be 32, I think selling him now, back to Marseille, where he is adored and will end his career on a high is probably worth doing.

First time they had no choice, it was live after all.

But the second time they showed it , it wasnt bleeped and Richard Keys suddenly shat himself and made quick apologies, i cant help but think this had made things worse. Pricks.

As far as the Drogs' outburst goes - we all know that we love him and hate him, but we can all understand exactly where he was coming from last Wednesday. Having said that, I do realise that he can't be allowed to get away with it.

So this is where I stand. I actually applaud him for speaking out in public, but know he'll suffer for it. I think they called it martyrdom a few hundred years ago. Alas, the days of integrity and commitment have long gone in today's corporate footballing world, as they have in the world in general. So, hard lines, Didi - you are a victim of today's nanny state. However, I do wish you would apply the same passion and commitment to your time on the field and not fall over so easily to get cheap free kicks. ::ChElSeaFLag:: You'd be hero material if not for that!

I believe all live TV has a brief time delay so if anything particularly bad happens it can be cut out. Sky left it in for a reason, and then repeated it for a reason. They knew exactly what they were doing.

they did. they had every opportunity to make sure it didnt make it to the screens yet chose to show it. and then show it again. strange that isnt it.
