£60million? You never know. Nice link further down the page:

MANCIENNE: I'M A TRUE BLUE

England kid happy to pledge future to Chelsea

MICHAEL MANCIENNE insists his future lies at boyhood heroes Chelsea and not Championship leaders Wolves.

The centre-back has been a revelation since moving to Molineux on loan last month and earned a shock call-up to the England squad for the Germany game.

But the 20-year-old, who has skippered the Three Lions at every youth level, insists his dream is to return to the Blues — and line up alongside John Terry.

Favourite

He said: “I don’t know what is going to happen in the more immediate future but, long-term, I want to make it with Chelsea.

“Someone from Chelsea comes to watch me in all the home games and some of the away matches too, so it’s up to me to perform.

“But Chelsea is my club. As a kid my favourite player was Marcel Desailly. I was privileged enough to watch him train and put aspects of his game into mine. Now I admire JT. I want to establish myself alongside him one day.â€

Wow, what an utterly pathetic story. I'm normally the first one to get paranoid when our stars are linked with a move but per-lease, at least come up with a plausible one. Next.

Gutter Press Sports Journalism 101:

Well, until recently if you had to fill some space in your rag, you started by thinking of a name, a number, then doubling or trebling the number, claiming that Chelsea were in for them - and Voila! another earth shattering "World Exclusive".

Now the game has moved on. So you think of a name, a number, then double or treble the number, claim that Man City are in for them. . For maximum impact claim that a Chelsea FC player is the intended target of the "swoop" - and Voila! another earth shattering "World Exclusive" scoop.

Simple really.

Well the story is from Rob Sheppard.

Best known for having a drink problem that culminated with him smacking a guy unconcious in a London bar one night. He has struggled to find work for a few years now so probably needs sensational stories to keep in employment.

Good news on Mancienne though. :)

Am I the only one that would be intrigued by this? If they are mental enough to offer that sum, im almost eager to see how far they can be pushed.

Maybe not 60 million, but what about 80? or 90? I love JT, obviously, but it makes me wonder....

As we already know. You cant win the league with money. You just cant

Nope you need a great manager to go with all that money

60 Million for JT? I wouldn't be bothered if he left for that much money.

This is actually something I had been thinking about recently, well since this topic came up. If we are tightening the purse strings, and the Abu Dahbi lot offered us $60 million for Terry, I wonder if the club would take it? It is a hell of a lot of money, and we could use that money to bring in players that we need. Alex, Ivanovic, Percy and Mancienne is not too bad a foursome to be left with, and the money could go toward a striker and a winger that we really need?

I'm not advocating we do sell, but if you look at it as a business offer, which I am sure the club will, it could be hard for them to say no!

I think Terry is great as captain, and a true Chelsea Legend, so I really hope he doesn't go, I'm merely trying to imagine what would happen if such an audacious bid was put on the table for John

Scott

If JT goes on with what he's doing now then 60 million would be a decent deal. No I love JT. But given his recent form his performance is worrying me.

And Ivanovic' display is superb.

Guys! Tell me you would not sell JT for 60 million? Im actualy scared if that your opinions.

JT is the heart and soul of Chelsea FC and he should not be sold even if we got 100 millions.

It's all speculation, and I dont think JT want to go there anyway, they are a few years away from the Champions League. However, if they do pay 60 Millions cash, and for some reasons JT want to go there, it's a good deal. That would be the first step of being self sufficient. At the end of the day, everyone has a price tag.

It's alot of money but I don't think we really need them.

On the other hand, JT hasn't played as good as he used to and his leadership skills hasn't been all the good.

But we know what he can do and he'll probably bounce back soon.

So if I wasn't sure that JT will get back on form I would say "sell him!". But he'll come back and be our great leader once more...I hope

Money makes the world go around doesn't it :)
