July 26, 200915 yr Thanks great photo's, the two pics showing his 100% challenges on Viarra and Keane epitomises what we would have missed.
July 26, 200915 yr No one is bigger than a club, but ol' JT certainly pushes that rule all the way.... Think it was a cup game away at Upton Park a few years ago, when he scored a bullet header in the dying moments to take the game to a replay? Have rarely been so happy seeing a goal go in. He really is Mr Chelsea.
July 26, 200915 yr Gem,cheers for pics JT on keano now desktop background :) Edited July 26, 200915 yr by Ballack & Blu
July 26, 200915 yr Sums it all up. I wonder how much we offered him? Edited July 26, 200915 yr by BLUENUT
July 26, 200915 yr They probably offered him more, but he's got such a history and atmosphere with Chelsea that he really couldn't leave.
July 26, 200915 yr To think that he managed to shake hands with every member of the Barca dressing room even after THAT game, and to then be applauded leaving, shows you how far he has come from the messy days of 'affray' with Senor Morris....
July 26, 200915 yr They probably offered him more, but he's got such a history and atmosphere with Chelsea that he really couldn't leave. Perhaps he should have made that statement weeks ago, before we had to improve his £130k a week deal, and refused his alledged requests to talk to Man City? Edited July 26, 200915 yr by BLUENUT
July 27, 200915 yr I love our captain, and I love those pictures, but I cant help but feel like Bluenut. Full of questions the one of him destroying 'Paddy' is excellent
July 27, 200915 yr Hate to be that guy, but I'd have to agree with BLUENUT. I don't understand why if he's so committed to the club he took so long to come out and say so and it seems he's used City's interest to engineer yet another new contract. Great photos, though the two tackles on Vieira and Keane that everybody's getting so excited about look like fouls to me. :(
July 27, 200915 yr Agree with Cap and Bluenut. If there was never any doubt, why not tell us as soon as the rumours started gaining momentum. Its great that he's staying on, but I'll never think of JT in the same light any more.

Posts like these are why at times people shouldn't jump to conclusions or believe any of the sh*t that's been thrown about in the press. If Terry had any reason to leave, it was because of the direction of the club which at times has me wondering why we keep shooting ourselves in the foot. Some people will never be happy. EDIT: By the way, if you want to know why he didn't make a statement as quick as some people wanted it. "I know there has been comment that I should have made a statement earlier. "However, throughout this period there have been numerous discussions between myself, the owner and the Chelsea board and we all agreed that the timing of any statement would suit everyone involved in those talks, not any outside influences or agendas." July 27, 200915 yr If someone come's in with a better contract in January, what will he do? Some of us feel he has held the club to ransom, perhaps, and I hope, he never, ever, intended to leave!! But as a supporter who's watched the fella's career go from strenght, to strenght, I just feel there are better ways your club skipper should be negotiating a new deal. The best skipper we've had in my lifetime, but if the club was being run properly as you say, he'd have been told to nail his colours to the mast earlier than he did. Loook at Fergies sale of Ince, Staam, Van Nistleroy, Beckham, Ronaldo, to know who's the boss there. If a player isn't sure he sholud be playing for your, then he probably shouldn't, especially if it's your skipper you're talking about! I am genuinely glad he's staying, but once again, I think the club and our skipper mishandled the way the whole sorry affair could have and should have been dealt with! and when JT kisses his badge in front of his own fans, something just won't feel the same, I'm sorry, but I'm sure I won't be the only one. It's like finding out your bird was going to run off with another fella, but as soon as he lost interest, she give's you the 'well I alway's loved you' line. Edited July 27, 200915 yr by BLUENUT

Its not as if anyone had to believe a word written by the press to be unnerved and disappointed by this saga. For example, I dont believe JT managed to get a 200k a week, 10 year deal from the club, with the option to become manager at the end, as was being reported

John Terry is ours, and will always be ours. :)
July 27, 200915 yr Wait, John used to a wear headband? Awesome. And Pampers To sum the above up John Terry is committed to John Terry and intends to stay that way
July 27, 200915 yr With his way of getting stuck in :) , it's a miracle he doesn't get injured more often. Any other player would have had to retire due to an excess of amputated limbs
July 27, 200915 yr To some extent i agree that he could have handled it better but at the same time if contract negotiations were on going he probably could'nt comment legaly. I know it looks like he has held the club to ransom a bit but does anybody on here believe that Terry and Lampard dont deserve to be the 2 highest paid players at the club? He did'nt say match City's offer or i'm off, he just said what i felt, why am i not getting paid what overs at the club are when i contribute so much more on and off the pitch? Its hard for us fans to understand when the ammounts of money are astronomical but its the same for all of us at our jobs, none of us would like to hear that the bloke sitting next to us is earning more yet doing less would we? No way Ballack should earn more than Terry and he's just had his deal extended so why should'nt JT want at least the same. Terry and Lampard should be the highest paid at the club and now they are. I'm just glad he is staying. :)
July 27, 200915 yr Author Wait, John used to a wear headband? Awesome. He smacked his head against the post in training, I remember the picture in the match day programme, they took a picture of him next to the bloodied post.
July 27, 200915 yr Until there is confirmation of a new contract, isnt all this talk of ''holding the club to ransom'' speculation? I mean, John hasnt stated that he has been trying to negotiate a new contract? I believe he still has 2 years left on his current deal? Call me sceptical, but this could yet be more paper talk.
July 27, 200915 yr Terry said: "I let my football do the talking, I have got three years left on my current deal and from day one with Peter [Kenyon, chief executive] to Roman [Abramovich, owner] it has not been about a new deal. "We have not spoken about any contract talks over the last month or five weeks. http://www.thelondonpaper.com/thelondonpap...pper-john-terry
