Last Movie You Watched

Featured Replies

Watched Due date the other night and although a couple of bits made me chuckle it was like a poor immitation of Trains Planes and Automobiles and never got near to being as good or having such likeable characters. (thats if you liked Trains Planes and Automobiles obviously).

I watched Book of Eli earlier on. Was a good watch certainly. I enjoyed it and it kept me interested the whole way through, but I doubt I'd watch it again... or at least not for a good while, because the fact that it takes over an hour to reveal the plot is one of it's most interesting features....

Hmmm - that's what makes this wonderful, beautiful world of ours such an interesting and intriguing place. The vast differences in opinion about something like film.

I went to see Book of Eli at the cinema and found it to be derivative, predictable and cliched, with nothing other than a few special effects to lift it above the drab. What little plot there is twists with all the trickery and convincingness of Jamie Carragher defending a corner, the pseudo-religious nonsense that infects the film would make bloody scientiologists or catholics squirm, and the ending was obviously cobbled together in the hopes that they could sell a sequel to the movie company. But that's just my thoughts on it, and what the feck do I know, I'm still ploddingly working my way through the Saw series

I watched an amusingly quirky little film the other night. White River Kid, with Bob Hoskins playing a small time con man who poses as a friar/monk.

Wes Bentley, (the strange boy in American Beauty) is the White River Kid, a complusive killer, who is much misunderstood, and Antonio Banderas plays Bob Hoskins's partner, a Mexican wetback who is wary of being caught and sent back. There's also a blind prostitute, who is of course a true Lady!

It all happens in deepest Arkansas, and Hoskins does the accent superbly (not that I'm a great connoisseur of the Arkansas accent, but he sounded like the others did - not a trace of cockney anywhere)

Anyway, very light and frothy but enjoyable.

It was about a Polish gangster. He wanted to become a doctor of philosophy, and he forced the well-known professor, to write a doctoral dissertation for him. ;) Before that he bought a master's degree at the bazaar. :) The movie is full of grotesque e.g gangsters during execution are talking about philosophical problems. ;) :laugh2::laugh2: It's really, really funny.

Red with a Bruce Willis.

I'm gpoing to see that on Wednesday. It has Morgan Freeman too, doesn't it ? Was it good? Don't tell me too much about it, but are you glad you went?

I can't speak for Coco, but personally I thought it was an okay movie. It's a bit of fun action - nothing more.

And seeing the always beautiful Helen Mirren firing a gun is worth to pay for ;)

Yes totally agree.

Thanks! I expect I'll be concentrating on Morgan Freeman and Bruce Willis! But sounds like I'll enjoy it.

I tried to watch The book of Eli a few months ago, what a complete hackneyed load of crap. Was pissed off last night and looked for something to cheer me up and found it, Watched 10,000 BC and havent laughed so much in ages, shame its wasnt supposed to be a comedy though.

Hey ! I do grammar and punctuation! Don't expect arithmetic as well!

Hausu, crazy psychedelic horror/comedy by Japanese director

It's one of the most visually appealing movies I've ever seen. Check out the trailer on YouTube, its definitely worth it

Well, I went to see RED today and jolly good fun it was too. The stroppy wench from West Wing was in it, as well as Helen Mirren, John Malkovich, Morgan Freeman and Bruce Willis. Also Brian Cox being a Russian - he's amazingly good at accents! Though I shouldn't say that because it was the French dubbed version, so it wasn't actually him talking!

Helen Mirren firing that Saw M249 with paddles in the carpark at the end, will live with me forever.

Also Brian Cox (My fav Brit actor) is in another film also called 'Red', well worth a look as well.

Sorry thought the gun was an M249 when in fact it was a M16A4 flat top HBAR rifle with a GemTech Suppressor. :Connie_threaten:

Pfft, I could see that with my eyes closed B)
