Honestly, I think this is the most ludicrous rumour I've heard in a long time. It's one thing to be linked with top drawer players, even when the fees are astronomically high, but Heskey? He's sh*t. He works for England because he's the only one who can hold the ball up, but for the Blues, I think he would be an abject failure (read Benjani @ City). Agree? Disagree?

I seriously doubt that we are even considering it. I hope that the club learned already in regards to buying out of date strikers!

The only reason I see that we may be considering it is that he's cheap, and he's not good enough to make Drogba fear for his position when he comes back...so we will only have one unhappy striker at the end of ACN...and that's our cheap purchase. He also has a happy knack of putting in some good performances when he first moves, which would suit us.

On the other hand, it could just be a waste of precious pounds, as he doesn't offer a solution the ageing squad....and I fail to see why he would want to come here considering his aim is to get first team football so he can make the world cup, and here, we have better strikers than Villa have to choose from. It's not like he would even win medals if he came here, considering he won't play in any of the important games, or play enough of the EPL games to be eligible if we win.

There's no reason for him to choose us, and next to no good reason for us to choose him.

Wouldn't make sense fro Heskey's point of view. He needs regular starts in games in the build up to the World Cup. He won't get that here.

Well, if we've decided not to break the bank for Aguero or Villa, then Heskey isn't a bad option, IMHO. He's strong, wins balls in the air, and it's a real bargain. Of course he's not gonna be in our starting eleven (often, or at all) once a fit Anelka and Drogba are available, but he of most people would know that. As a stopgap for the next one month, I think it's a bargain.

I think signing Heskey is a great idea......if we can get him on a four week loan deal.

I totally agree. I hear he was unhappy at Villa coz he was in and out of the team so why would he go to us when as soon as Drogba comes back he wont get a look in?

Why would anyone want to buy Vieira? He's complete sh*te these days...

Heskey would be a good idea if we could get him on loan until Drogba gets back, but I think I'd rather give Sturridge the playing time.

Although, if we could get them both on loan (no chance), Heskey and RvN would in theory make a pretty lethal partnership.

Yes, Chelsea want Emile Hesky because he plays sort of like a poor mans Drogba on hallucinogens underwater, and Man City want Vieira because Mancini once coached him. Go back to the xbox fellas

Stupid rumour. Heskey holds the ball up well/works hard for the team/makes a nuisance of himself etc, all of which Didier does.

However, what Didier also does, which Big Emile catagorically cannot do, is score lots of goals, which is sort of the important bit if you're playing up front for a title challenging outfit.

There was some media gossip back in December 2008 linking Heskey with Chelsea. So now they are at it again. To think that Heskey would move to the Bridge for first team football is a bloody joke!
