Jose Back to Haunt Us

Featured Replies

Media seems to be tipping Jose as Fergie's successor. I'm not sure how I'd feel about this if it happened, I'm still a fan of his and on that level it'd bother me immensely that he was in bed with the enemy. On the other hand, his philosophies don't exactly coincide with the drivel Mancs love to preach to us "rent boys" - the way they talk about youth you'd think was borderline illegal... And Jose might end up gutting all that in favour rapid success and huge controversy. I can also see him picking a fight with the Glazers when they restrict his spending limit and eventually leaving in some catastrophic scandal putting our own to shame. I can't see him helping their debt situation either.

On that side of the coin, he could bring United to its knees - we're only just getting over him ourselves. Personally I see signing a deal with Jose similar to making a pact with the Devil, instant success for a price ::clap2:: Could but fun watching the Mancs pay it.

Anyway, thoughts?

Sorry mate

too busy thinking about the next couple of games to give a toss what happens at UTD or who the next Manager there is.

certainly would not like to see him at the mancs but it wouldn't surprise me if he did. I did read somewhere that fergie was tipping David Moyes to be his successor. Anyway i cant see fergie leaving for a while

Yeah, I heard about Moyes possibly becoming Fergie's successor. I think I heard it from somewhere that Fergie will retire after next season.

I guess Fergie is probably obsessed with getting the 19th league and is just trying to stick around long enough to get that historical milestone.

I dont think Jose will be next in after old red nose does one, I think Jose is cleverer than that. The next person in is on a hiding to nothing, if he wins its with fergie`s team and influence, if he loses then he isnt fergie and will have to go. Jose will be in after the first one after fergie fails.

can't wait for it to happen always said it will !!

Gezzer , Liam , Andy , DKW , Loz will all owe me a pint !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Won't happen. It'll be the Dippers for Mourinho.

Surely JM is a shoe in as Real Madrids manager next season ?

I'm not so sure about that. I don't think Real would accept Jose's style of play, regardless of how successful it is. Remember they won the league twice with Capello's winning football and got rid of him both times.

Ive heard Jose is to Madrid is almost a done deal, contract is sorted as are the transfer targets its only a bit of political maneuvering thats holding it up.

But that wouldve been because hey did so badly in the Champions League.

Mark my words, its the Champions League Real want above anything, and Jose is their man i reckon.

They weren't in the Champions League the first time Capello was there, and the second it was the style of play which got him the boot (if winning their first La Liga in 4 years couldn't save his job, I don't see why winning the UCL would have).

Again, I honestly don't think they'd go for Jose's style, no matter how successful he was. And given what happened here, do you think Jose would want Florentino Perez for a chairman?!

I think most of you are having a laugh.....Manc will be looking for a long term replacement and have a huge debt....so Mr Spend huge in transfers and leave 3 years later doesnt really fill that gap

Liverpool, without new and big spending owners, wont be able to offer Jose what he wants/needs in term of transfer funds..

Man City is where he would go IMO. They have the budget and they want success now! They obviously wont mind taking a chance JM would only stay a few odd years.....because he has a fantastic record of deliverying instantly if given the right tools.

I, like many, would back Moyes for replacing Fergie.....and if I was a Manc I would opt for him over Jose anyways, he has done fantastic with comparable limited resources and seems excellent at managing his players on and off the field....imagine what he could do with the resources available at Man U

edit: Plus to me Moyes is of the same cloth as Fergie, although a much more personable cut!

I'm not sure about this. Forgetting for a minute Real's hangups (they hired Capello knowing full well he would play a boring defensive style, but had been so starved for accolades they just didnt care) what about Jose's?

I know Real Madrid is Real Madrid, but I find it hard to believe a manager like him would accept going to a team where he will have zero control beyond his own team (even that being debatable). He would have to go into a locker full of egos and primadonnas who are established as the darlings of Perez, and get them to play his style. One bad word to the board and they could try to sink him.

Add to that the situation with Barca. They are damn good right now, and I think Jose would wait until he has a good chance of pipping them to the title. I know he relishes a challenge and could probably do it anyway, but I am just not convinced a man of his ability would go so soon.

One thing I would like to see, though, is Jose managing Cristiano Ronaldo. It will either be a match made in heaven or an absolute disaster from day one.

To add to that, the Italians seem to have warmed up to Jose in recent weeks. After the job done against Barca, I think they are finally believers (Inter are the real martians, etc etc)

Pretty sure I'm with BJD and DKW here, Real will be his next stop. He wan't to win tites in the 3 Major Leagues. Spain, Italy, and England
