And this is how Chelsea won the title

Featured Replies

Just some simple stats that are really quite amazing....

Goals: 103

Game average: 2.7....

Home goals: 68!

Game average: 3.6!

At home we scored 3 and a half goals per game...increadible

Beautiful football + tough football = 103 goals + a league title + many happy Chelsea fans

Yes, that too...I was just emphasising the monumentous feat that is scoring the goals....

Seriously...3.6 per home game is astonishing.

Moar numbers:

27 wins / 38 league games

17 wins / 19 home league games

6 wins / 6 games against traditional Top 3

11 goals scored, 1 conceded against traditional Top 3

Frank Lampard, 19 goals in 25 starts since the start of the year is an incredible achievement for a midfielder.

I think we scored 12 goals agains the "top 3".

We have proved to be the strongest team in the Premiership. We should start next season as clear favourites to win the League with a very experienced team and manager. Looking forward to Michael Essien returning fully fit and one or two new signings.

Onwards and Upwards, Chelsea!

Just read this post season briefing on the official site:

http://www.chelseafc.com/page/LatestNews/0...2057403,00.html

And I quite liked the stats based on "Wenger points"(extra points for goals scored). If you're too lazy to click on the link, here's the Premiership top-5 with Wenger points added to the normal points tally:

1. Chelsea..........165

2. Man Utd.........157

3. Arsenal..........130

4. Tottenham.....115

5. Man City........106

I'm assuming they got better results from their Champions League matches than Chelsea. And I think they look at the prevous seasons as well when they give the ratings.

We beat them thrice .....Count Community Shield into that ...although the shield isn't considered that important but we won it by beating Manure is what makes it important.

Cheers!!

As far as I'm aware, those rankings are based on performances from the previous five seasons.

That would quite handily explain why ManU is above us.
