Not likely. Its 1-0 to Argentina. They scored through an own goal.

And that's how dangerous Argentina can be. What a whooping they gave the South Koreans.

I thought I would have seen more from South Korea. Chalk that up in the "wrong" category. :laugh2:

How stupid can someone be? That Nigerian defender who raked the calf of the Greek player just because the Greek player picked up the ball for a throw-in, is an idiot! He deserved the red card, and any retaliations that might come his way when he gets back to his home country. No excuse for idiocy.

The guy was a complete numpty. He should have known better, and has now caused problems for his team. Since that incedent Greece have played a lot better. It is nice to see that they have finally scored at the world cup. As for the first game today that was really entertaining to watch. I was really impressed by the Argies and as for Messi well he was brillaint as was Hugain. It was a shame that Sergio Aguero did not score at the end of that game. Would have been nice to see him score.

Was Aguero playing well?

First of all he came on as a subsitute in the second half against South Korea. As for his performance he did okay. He had a terrifc effort near the end of the game that had it gone in would have been one of the best goals at this world cup. As for the other game it is currently 2-1 to Greece against Nigeria.

Was Aguero playing well?

I thought he played very well. He looked more dangerous then Tevez did when he had the ball, although I don't think he played better than Tevez. He was involved in both of the second half goals.

Aguero impressed me when he came on. Like Izz said, he had a hand in both second half goals, a semi-assist* and an assist. He had 2 excellent runs aswell, the first took 3 men to stop him after he took on 3 others and the second, like The Machine said, could've been goal of the tournament. Good stuff.

I'm just happy that there were finally 2 games that were rather exciting and interesting to watch. Argentina were just brilliant to watch, and Korea put up a bit of a fight until Argentina's 3rd goal went in, and the Greece match was just as exciting in the second half (the first was pretty dire). Finally!

France v Mexico should be very interesting indeed, both will be desperate for a win.

*Semi-assist = he assisted the assister :P

France V Mexico 35 mins 0-0, decent game, Maloudas doing ok, Ribery continues to unimpress, all to play for.

Argentina put in a much better performance than they did against Nigeria. I like Messi in the role of playmaker setting up numerous opportunities in attacking the Korean defence. Higuain with his hat trick is the proverbial "fox in the box". Tevez had a good game. Got to hand it to Maradona for bringing in Aguero late in the game after Tevez had run the Korean defence ragged. That substitution helped to put the icing on the cake. However, the Argentina defence has not been really tested so far in the tournament and in my opinion is suspect. Now with Samuel out injured it's even more vulnerable. I don't understand why Maradona plays Gutierrez at right full back. It will be interesting to see how the defence will perform agains stronger teams.

Hernandez scores to go up 1-0 for Mexico. His grandfather also scored against France.

Would hate to be that boys dad when the family gets together, those two will probably never shut up about it!

Just how poor can France be? They are clueless out there. Justice has been done for the Henry handball, it seems.

True they never should have been there. I do feel sorry for Anelka and Florent but the whole team just plays like they don't care.

Oh and Ribery is looking very, very average these days.

Think I will pop into the bookies and put a bet on Mexico and Uruguay to draw their last game! Bet the odds are very small.

You'd think so but I'm not so sure. Mexico will be motivated to win that match and avoid Argentina. Much better to play South Korea/Greece

I was very impressed by the performance of Mexico today. They outplayed the French in all departments of the field. I think they could be potentially be a dark horse in this tournament.

Agreed, though the fact that France were utterly clueless for 90 minutes helped their cause a little bit. I'm liking the look of Mexico, I have them in my sweepstake, good stuff!

France's performance against Mexico was pathetic. It was a combination of coaching incompetence and a lackadasical performance from the players. The French did not play like a team and their manager was clueless. They are in dire need of Laurent Blanc to take over the helm. A tip of the hat to Mexico!

There is probably only about 6 people in France who don't think Domenech shouldn't have been punted years ago. It is astonishing that a manager who has looked out of his depth so regularly and is hated by the French public has managed to hang onto the job for so long.

Best day of the Cup by far, even Greece managed to score goals. Higuain scored the goals, Messi got the applause, but it's Augero that finished the game off for Argentina. Is it me or Di Maria is not worth the hype, he had one good shot on goal and that's about it, his few crossings are as good as Gronkjer back to his hay days. I think Argentia is over compensating in attack, just don't think Mascherno, Veron and Di Maria will withstand a strong midfield like the Germnan's. France is utterly useless, how the manager survied this long in the job is beyond anyone's imagination.
