Tevez Demands Transfer Request

Featured Replies

According to the News of the World, the Telegraph and the Guardian, Tevez has handed in a transfer request and wants to move in the January transfer window.

Of course, all of these papers are renowned for being full of complete and utter sh*t, detritus and lies, so we all know it could well be bollocks.

However, if it's true, he may be a c**t of the highest order, but there are few forwards in the game who are better, plus he performed right off the bat for Man City.

This is a tricky one. First off, all I've heard about him recently is that he doesn't want to play football anymore because he don't like what it's like anymore (in a way I have to applaud him for that), so if he leaves City I doubt he'll join a big team. Maybe he'll go home to Argentina and play there.

But if he would stay in football and he would leave City then I'm in two minds here. He's a great player who could do alot of good for us. But on the other hand, I hate the f*cking little t*at. So based purely on his footballing skills, then I would say Yes to him, but based on my oppinion of him I'd rather have my balls chopped off.

I'd have him in a blink, the type of player we could use right now and absolutely works his arse off for the team. He might be a c**t of the highest order but to have him in your team would be amazing.

Both the Telegraph and the Guardian seem convinced that this has actually happened. I thought I'd check out the Blue Moon forum to see what City fans are making of all this; maybe it's just a coincidence but all parts of www.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk are currently unreachable.

I've heard plenty of stories that Tevez wants to leave City, but every single one of them has stated that when he leaves, it'll be to return to Argentina. Apparently he misses his daughters. But if there was a chance of him coming to the Bridge for the rest of the season, would I take him? Damned right I would. Bursting with energy, skill and determination, professional enough to give full commitment to whatever team he plays for. And he'd be free to play in the Champions League.

I've said this before, but of all the players City have bought he is genuinely the only one I regret not having with us.

When Spammers had to move him on we should have jumped on the chance. But that's in the past, and if it is at all true I wouldn't be surprised if he did a Riquelme and ended up playing for Boca again.

I was hoping Tevez would come here when he was at West Ham and all thats happened since is my opinion of his has got higher, would be well happy to have him here.

I would imagine he will end up closer to home if he leaves City though.

I didnt see the game against Bolton last week, but I heard about his reaction. That said, I was still gobsmacked to hear this.

And it definitely looks to be true, as unfathomable as it seems. Telegraph are suggesting its a way for him to force the owners to get rid of Mancini by risking losing him, but considering its not the first time he has brought up retirement prematurely I wouldnt be so sure.

If they lose him, you can add him to Robinho, and im sure later to Balotelli in the "expensive failures with the wrong mentality" file. But it would be a huge blow to City to see their poster boy leave.

Just like Rooney, there are only a few clubs out there who could take him. If he stays in top level football, I see the Spanish giants or Inter being the only ones. And this brings into question who City will get next? Hopefully its not Kun Aguero. That would kill me.

Am I the only one that doesn't want him anyhere near the squad?

I really don't rate him at all.

You serious mac? I'd have him just to stop him scoring against us. Not to mention his scoring record is nearly 1 in 1 in the last year or so. But we missed the boat on him, twice. City will simply not sell him to us.

I'm sorry, but for the amount of money he cost I would expect him to be as good as he is. I believe all told he cost City 47 million pounds, fees and all, to buy his rights off MSI completely. Forget for a moment shifting exchange rates, and that is what Zidane cost Real Madrid 9 years ago. He is a great player, but even the Roman of 2003 would have balked at his price, though I admit he is a very good player and almost custom made for this league.

And Hutch, the bluemoon forum was not coincidence. I saw a few reactions from there and they were not happy. People demanding they ship him to Barca for Villa or Madrid for Higuain. Also some city fans going bonkers on twitter, targeting one of the Heil reporters that broke the story, but that's just funny.

I think our squad could really use a player of his quality but would what he brings to the field compensate for the disruption he might casue in the dressing room. Its not like citeh are lacking star power in their dressing room anymore so that is not the reason for his unhappiness and who is to say he is going to like carlo any more than roberto? Then there is also the fact that he might not be guaranteed a starting place in the team week in week out let alone the starring role he is currently handed. Also cant imagine them selling him to us for cheap

When I checked a little later, BlueMoon had actually locked the doors (login required) to the entire site, and no way am I going to register at a Man City forum just to read the fairly predictable reaction of their fans. And at 7:30 am their doors are still locked.

Great player but wants to go home, homesick.

If we were going to sign a premiership striker it should be Andy Carol, young & very much in the Drogba mould.

From the BBC:

Manchester City's Carlos Tevez makes transfer request

Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has made a written transfer request, which the club has rejected.

The 26-year-old Argentina international is said to be homesick after four years in England.

"The club remains disappointed by this situation and particularly with the actions of Carlos' representative," said a Manchester City statement.

Tevez was suspended on Saturday as City won at West Ham to move level on points with Premier League leaders Arsenal.

He had an angry exchange with manager Roberto Mancini when substituted in the closing moments of his last match against Bolton on 4 December.

The City statement continued: "Roberto Mancini and all at the club have shown, and will continue to show, sensitivity to Carlos' personal circumstances including the issue of his family being based overseas.

"Indeed following his suspension as a result of the game against Bolton, Carlos requested, and was given, special dispensation by the Manager to take leave overseas.

"The written transfer request is in stark contrast to Carlos' stated position in both public and club contexts.

"Significantly, over recent months, the club has also received numerous requests from Carlos' representative to renegotiate and improve his playing contract as well as more recently a request to extend that contract by another year.

"However, in line with the club's policy of not negotiating playing contracts mid-season this has not been granted. Carlos' current five-year contract has three-and-a-half years to run and he is the highest paid player at the Manchester City Football Club.

"This is both an unfortunate and unwelcome distraction and the club will remain focused on the games ahead in what is turning out to be a very promising season. The door remains open for Carlos to be selected to play."

Tevez joined Manchester City from cross-town rivals Manchester United last year after a two-year spell with Sir Alex Ferguson's side that saw him win two Premier Leagues titles, the Champions League, the Fifa Club World Cup and the League Cup.

He then joined fierce rivals City in July, 2009, and was a key member of the side as they just missed out on Champions League qualification by finishing fifth last season.

BBC Radio 5 live football correspondent Ian Dennis said: "The striker is believed to be homesick and over the last couple of months there have been suggestions he's considering quitting football altogether.

"In a recent television interview he said he was tired of football and tired of people who work in football."

Tevez left South America for England in 2006 to join West Ham, along with fellow Argentine Javier Mascherano, and scored the goal at Manchester United on the last day of the season that kept the Londoners in the Premier League.

Absolutely gutted about this. However the club have played this one very well. Blatant on Kia Joorabchins behalf but he has burnt his players bridges with many of the fans.

We need to hand the captaincy to Vincent Kompany immediately.

Carlos is obviously a very confused guy but ultimately this boils down to cold hard cash like every player. We hear about the problems with Bobby, we hear he isnt happy and yet he wants a year contract extension and a bumper pay packet.

I highly doubt you would pay the sort of money we would be looking for, the most realistic scenario will be him staying here until the summer and then the situation will be re-addressed then. Or we will do what we did with Robinho and send him off to Boca on loan. Any talk of him moving to yourselves is fanciful.

I hope we dont do what the plastics from Stretford did and break our club policy of non negotiation during a season to swell an already very rich mans bank balance even further.

We have got to the stage now where we are bigger than Carlos. He was warming a bench until we moved for him, his reputation has enhanced considerably since we signed him so he does owe us something. As a club captain his actions have been a disgrace.

Ultimately though, I am gutted.

dont care about other clubs but what i will say is this open the door for more man city players to start sulking tevez wont be the last man city = circus and thats coming from a chelsea fan just shows how bad you lot are, how many incidents involving city players already this seaso. football id gone really sad tevez has everything anyone could ever want but he still wants more very sad indeed.

I think the lure of Champions League football could possibly tempt Tevez to consider signing for us. But then I can't see any way we'd pay the kind of money City would demand, even if they were prepared to sell him to us. No chance.

If he leaves City it'll definitely be to go abroad, and sooner or later he'll end up back in Argentina.

How so?

It does if we bend over for him but that doesnt look likely. If we tell him no, which is quite clear that is exactly what we have done every time he has tried to open negotiations and now rejecting his transfer request, I cant see how that open the doors for anyone? We have told our captain and talisman we will not change our rules for him, I just don't understand your logic.

A circus that currently sits top of the league.

Its also clear it isnt about champions league football. It is about money and thats it.

By your logic your just as much a circus as us.

Despite us having all the troubles you have mentioned (All being in the last few weeks) we have gone unbeaten where as you have gone into reverse gear ferociously. I'll take our circus if it keeps driving us on.
