Roman To Continue a spend In The Summer

Featured Replies

I know alot of these players have been mentioned in separate threads, so admin can delete it if it shouldn't have its own thread, but, I just thought I'd point it out.

Chelsea will continue to spend lavishly in the summer as owner Roman Abramovich looks to strengthen his squad before Uefa's financial fair play rules kick in. The Blues are targeting Dutch right-back Gregory van der Wiel of Ajax, young Belgian internationals Eden Hazard from Lille and Romelu Lukaku of Anderlecht, Slovakia captain Marek Hamsik of Napoli and French winger Dimitri Payet of St Etienne.

Be happy with hazard lukaku and hamsik. Don't think we need anymore than that. I do think wel sign another forward prob lukaku/neymar. Guess wel have to wait and see. Exciting times.

Neymar & Hamsik & Lukaku maybe the best option.

Cech

Ivanovic-Luiz-Terry-A.Cole

Essien

Ramires-Hamsik

Neymar-Lukaku-Torres

or

Cech

Ivanovic-Luiz-JT-A.Cole

Essien

Ramires-Hamsik

Neymar-Torres-Sanchez/Sturridge

I don't see why it should be. Give him until the end of season to try and get some form back people.

Even if he can't get back to his very best, 80% of Drogba is still one of the best strikers in the world.

I think drogba has another season. But I do think that wel be back in for neymar in the summer. lukaku is also another possibility but I wouldn't be suprised if he stayed with anderlect another season, as he is only 17.

I am not really sure I believe another huge round of spending is on the horizon.

Hazard - okay great, someone like him would be awesome

van der Weil - another RB means we are losing Bosingwa and probably a CB too, because it means Ivan would be shunted into the middle again

Hamsik - I like him the few times I have seen him play, but he is gonna be so damn expensive

Lukaku - If we bid 30m euros and it was rejected, is this really a transfer with a good potential return on investment? We would have to buy him and then loan him until like 19 or 20.

I personally would be very happy with

-------------Cech

Ivan----Luiz---JT----Cole

-------------Mikel

Lampard----Hazard/new AM

----Anelka---------Studge

----------Torres

With Drogba, Alex, Ramires, Kalou, Yuri coming off the bench, youth to back em up. The AM doesnt have to be someone like Hazard, but maybe Pjanic (more a winger), Rakitic, or Marko Marin

I'd rather hazard than sanchez, especially if we get lukaku with the Belgium connection. Hazard has won consecutive young French player of the year and has been even better this year with lille near the summit of the table he may even get player of the year. players we've from the French league have been generally good in the premiership aswell. Leboeuf, essien, drogba, evra, cantona, ginola, pires etc

I suspect this will be the end of chelsea career for some of our players .. I read somewhere that we plan to get rid of some high earners to balance the books and meet UEFA regulations. I guess Drogba ( 10 M ) , Malouda ( 6-7 M ) , Anelka ( 8 M ) , Bosingwa ( 7 M ) will all be sold at the end of this season. Even Zhirkov , I think has an unlikely chance to stay at chelsea.

This is just a wild guess on seeing the reports about chelsea balancing the books . Probably we will go for Lukaku , Sanchez , Van der wiel and some left midfielder .

Players who signed contracts before June 2010, don't go against the clubs finances as long as the club show improved figures over next 3 seasons so I don't think wel be rushing to sell that many

Can you tell me where you found those numbers for their wages? I am not doubting what you say, just want to see.

Our wage bill came from nearly 170 a couple of years ago, to the high 140s, and now after Ballack, Riccy, Joe and all the departures last summer must be somewhere around the 120m mark. If that is what is crippling our ability to fill out the squad a bit more, then I agree, the old guard should be phased out and younger, cheaper players brought in.

I guess we really have to buy unless we're really confident that our youngsters can step up. We have alot of older players who won't play for many more seasons (though seeing what Carlo did at Milan you never know).

If we want to spend big on more players this is our last chance, unless our finances becomes brilliant in the future.

And those young talents wont stay at their current club for too long, so I doubt we can get one every season.

Neymar will want to spread his wings soon and if we're not there to get him, City, Real, Barca or someone else will. Aguero is bound to move soon. I know he wants to stay and help his team, but Atletic won't win big trophies (or any trophies at all), so I doubt he'll stay there forever.

Lukaku will probably move this summer or the next. He's expressed love for Drogba and Chelsea, but if we can't/won't buy him I'm sure he won't wait long before trying his luck somewhere else.

Anyone know if what we spend now will have any effect on our finances when the new rules are applied?

I mean, can we spend a fortune or will we have to watch our step because of the oncoming new rules?

Well, they did win the Europa League last season, and that is big. They really have a nice squad, and I can see them making waves in the future, if they can hold on to all of their players (goalkeeper as well).

Would love us to sign Lukaku and Hazard!

Me too.

Not sure we need all the others, but i guess the article is based on possible targets

Neymar- In my opinion best young player in the world, and if we can get him, that will be great.

Lukaku- He is big Chelsea fan, and there is big chance that we can also get him, but Anderlecht reject 25 millions for him, so i don't think that we will get him

Aguero- He is good friend with Torres, so, there is chance for him

Hamsik/Ganso - Best replace for Lampard

Van der Wiell - Don't need him

Hazard - He isn't for EPL

Sanchez- He is like Neymar.

in my opinon, best option is to buy

Neymar/Aguero & Hamsik/Ganso :)

Keepers: Cech, Delac, Turnubull

Defenders: Ivanovic, Luiz,Alex, Terry, A.Cole, PVA, Bruma

Midfielders: Lampard, Mikel, Essien, Ramires, Joshua, Hamsik/Ganso

Strikers:Torres, Drogba, Sturridge, Neymar/Aguero.

sell: Hilario, Zhirkov, Benayoun, Anelka, Kalou.

Just one question for all those quoting player xxx as best young striker/midfielder/defender, just how much have you seen of these players. Because I honestly have very little idea how any of them play, how good they really are or how overhyped they are.

Neymar was best player for Brazil on the South America U20 Championship. He score i think 7 goals, i watched every Neymar game, and i don't know what to say, he will be one of the greatest strikers. He is fast, great shot, good finisher, he is team player, want to assist, all around player. ::clap2:: If we can get him, him and Torres in attack, they will be unstoppable

seen alot of hamsik, and hazard only seen neymar, and lukaku on highlights, and next to nothing of ganso. Hazard is awesome! I'd be happy if we only signed him in the summer. neymar looks like the real deal from what I've seen or heard and obviously our scout think he is or we wouldn't have bid for him same with lukaku

Europa League - big

Okay, they won that one, but I don't think they will do it again for quite some time. They have some good players, but are way too inconsistent.
