July 1, 201115 yr From Sky; Villas-Boas eyes defender dealDann & Cahill emerge on new Chelsea boss' radar Skysports.com understands Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has made signing a new British central defender one of this top priorities in this summer's transfer market. New Blues chief Villas-Boas has earmarked the heart of the Chelsea defence as an area of the side that needs strengthening and he is now weighing up his targets. There have been rumours over the future of Brazilian defender David Luiz with Barcelona and Real Madrid both linked with the Benfica man so Chelsea could be in the market for defensive reinforcements. Sources now believe Villas-Boas is drawing up a list of British talent to bolster his defence, which includes Bolton defender Gary Cahill and Birmingham star Scott Dann. Cahill and Dann have both been linked with moves away from their clubs with a host of top teams keen to bolster their defensive options this summer. Arsenal are believed to have Cahill and Dann on their wanted list as Arsene Wenger looks to bring in a dominant defender to shore up his rearguard after struggling at the back last season. Tottenham have also been linked with a move for Cahill with Spurs boss Harry Redknapp thought to be offering players in exchange for the former Aston Villa man. Dann's future has been the subject of intense speculation all summer following Birmingham's relegation from the Premier League. The 24-year-old has proved to be a massive success at St Andrew's and he has established himself as one of the best young defenders in the country. The 6ft 5in stopper is seen by many seasoned observers as a future England international having represented his country at Under 21 level. Aston Villa and Liverpool are also thought to be weighing up moves for Dann, while Stoke have already seen a bid rejected for the former Coventry man. It is believed Dann is desperate to stay in the Premier League and could represent value for money at around the £10million mark making him a better option than Cahill because of his price tag. The race for both Dann and Cahill is expected to hot up in the next few weeks with a host of the Premier League's top clubs ready to battle it out with each other for the services of the duo. LINK
July 1, 201115 yr Stop geting there before me Hutch You're too quick for me. I just gave that story it's own topic. Haven't you got anything else better to do? :D I'm off to the cricket in a bit so the floor is all yours.

It's a lot quicker and easier to add a reply than make a new topic!
July 1, 201115 yr Didn't I tell you I'm lazy? It's a lot quicker and easier to add a reply than make a new topic! So true, it is easier. This thread is for transfers with less than 50% chance of happening though. I reckon there's a 51% chance we'll sign them.
July 1, 201115 yr I would have gone for a (scientifically calculated) 49.9 and a bit % chance of signing either of them. But both? Going by the er ... square on the hypotenuse which umm... falls mainly on the plain.. which leads me to the inescapable conclusion that the chance of signing both of those players gives me the opportunity to post this little gem:

Costello didn't want to go to Chelsea either. My reasoning on my 51% conclusion is that the square route of Cahill's big toe is of a larger proportionate percentage of Alex's left thumb. Multiply the amount of letters in Scott Dann and it'll give an amount that if subtracted from the amount of hairs on David Luiz's head will added together give you to be exact... a 51.00000033% of signing them both.

July 2, 201115 yr Walcott? I'd have rather we kept hold of Scott Sinclair. Still it's nice to hear of all this unrest over at the new library.
July 3, 201115 yr Walcott? I'd have rather we kept hold of Scott Sinclair. Still it's nice to hear of all this unrest over at the new library. Id rather we kept hold of Alexis Nicolas than take that sprinter in football boots.
July 3, 201115 yr Coentrao has kicked off at Benfica because they want to sell to cfc instead of Real.He wants Real move. Supposedly stormed off from training from twitter that, wouldnt want him here if that was true!
July 3, 201115 yr Its hard to tell what's true and not from twitter, I doubt we d spend big on a player who doesn't want to be here
July 3, 201115 yr Id rather we kept hold of Alexis Nicolas than take that sprinter in football boots. I'd rather we bought Wright-Phillips back again... ...Okay, maybe I wouldn't go that far.
July 4, 201115 yr Chelsea launches Rajkovic to try Coentrão The headline gives me a picture of Chelsea putting Rajkovic in a human cannon and firing it in the general direction of Portugal in the hope that they'd do the same with Coentrao in response.
July 4, 201115 yr There's not very probable, but interesting rumour about Villas-Boas getting rid of Emenalo. I wonder if there's anything to it.
July 5, 201115 yr Wouldn't mind that team. How about this one? ----------------Sando ----Lucio-----Cahill-----Dann Walcott-------Lucho----De Bruyne ---------Nasri-----Pastore --------------Aguero --------------Lukaku
July 5, 201115 yr Well let's be honest and say we didn't really require him here anyway. Left side is covered. I'd love it if we were linked to some right sided chaps.
July 5, 201115 yr Coentrao signs for R. Madrid subject to medical... Lets hope we ramped the price up a bit for them, since they seem to be linking themselves with most of our targets, despite not needing them
July 5, 201115 yr Coentrao signs for R. Madrid subject to medical... Im wondering what happens with Marcelo now, he was pretty good last season . . . maybe theyre thinking about playing him in midfield
