Lokomotiv Plovdiv midfielder Nenad Lukic is attracting Premier League interest.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are on the trail of 18 year-old Lukic.

The midfielder has been scouted in action for Serbia U19 over the last 12 months.

Not too sure mate, but thought I'd pass info on that I read. Sometimes I wonder if mata might be a bit like zirkov on that left hand side but more vision.

He is young, creative and versatile and would cost us 22 million pounds. Which for a player of his quality is quite low, he has a release clause in his contract which is available to any club inside and outside of Spain. If the likes of Downing is going for 20 million i think this guy would be a bargain.

Arsenal and Liverpool are the only ones really interested apparently, personally i hope this freddie guy is right but i've read his stuff before and he's mostly wrong.

Mata is a great winger, I've not seen much of him but he always seems to play well when I do. He has everything you want in a winger but he has tremendous creative ability on top of that. He's at home with the one touch silky passing and playing throughballs to strikers feet. His finishing is also pretty good as he scores more than his fair share for a winger. I hear Liverpool want him badly, but he'd certainly help Torres out a lot. Would be very happy if he ended up with us.

Apparently GK Thibaut Courtois will be at Chelsea this week. His father says we have agreed a deal with Genk with only personal terms to be finalised.

Any idea on how good he is ?

Duncan Castles from the Sunday Times saying AVB is happy with the squad and will only make one signing to replace Essien

Pahahaha such lazy jornalism!

Put it this way, i wouldn't rule it out. Sure we need reinforcements but very rarely are jounros accurate about chelsea stories these days until a day before a piece of news breaks. We have Malouda, Anelka, Drogba, Lampard coming to the end of their peak and if Villas Boas sees them performing in training then he may see no reason to replace them just yet with Sturridge, Kakuta(maybe) and Josh waiting in the wings.

I think our current crop of players still can make a top 4 position but other teams around us are strengthening big time especially Utd and most dutch journos believe Sneijder is on his way there soon as well. Ive said this many times before, on paper we can field the best starting 11 in the league but now the likes of City and Utd can field better in my opinion. Also with financial fair play coming in next season it would be a big risk to take if we only bought one player especially as injuries can come out of the blue just like yesterday.

If that story is true, which i doubt it isnt, then will struggle big time next season

Our defence is fine, but our midfield and attack is lacking big time IMO

Lampard is going on 33 and although hes been a great player for us, he needs to play more of a squad role next season, like Scholes and Giggs have done at Utd, we desperatly need a creative CM, someone who can dictate play, to play in midfield with Mikel and Ramres and easing Josh into the side

Malouda needs to go IMO hes struggled with consistency playing for us and was awful last season, plus hes 32 and Anelka was even worse last season IMO and offers us nothing from the RW, would like to see Sturridge given a chance their next eason

IMO we need two big signings for CM and LW and two smaller signings for CM and RW

Some people are ridiculous. We get linked to a player by the papers and all you hear is "no chance, never in a million years!" Then we get told by the same papers that we're actually not signing anyone and its gospel. Get a grip.

Stole my thunder, exactly what u was gonna say. Its amazing how many people believe anything negative written but refuse to believe anything posive written about chelsea. Very strange attitude.

Really? All i did was give my opinion on something which someone has said and i didn't rule it out. Would i be annoyed if we just bought a creative midfielder, no not really but i said it would be a risk. I have no idea where you got the whole gospel feeling towards it. Tim said in another thread that it could mean a good thing that Villas boas only wants to replace Essien and that is what i was trying to say and i don't understand how it comes across as negative like you say dkw.

Instead of people coming across as ridiculous i recommend people need to come off their high horses. This is the rumours sections of a forum and because what the guy from the Times said is a rumour i feel i can say what the hell i like on it without the usual forum police judging my comments.

Sheva neither of us named or quoted you or anyone in particular, its just a general theme we've both apparently picked up on when it comes to transfer rumours. The other one pissing me off is the legions crying out for stability and trusting the manager for a sustained period of time, then moaning because Man United and Liverpool are signing people and we haven't yet.

As Castiel said, wasnt aimed at yourself Sheva, just a general theme across the board with certain people. The fact you actually gave a reason as to why you dont think its 100% garbage makes you exempt from any kind of grief. Its the ones who tag onto anything negative and just hammer the club immediately after reading a headline yet are ridiculously negative anytime anything positive is written that do my head in.

I had an odd feeling that the Essien injury would mean a link to Scott Parker. The People (who else) have obliged.

http://www.people.co.uk/sport/football/football-hotline/2011/07/10/essien-injury-paves-way-for-scott-parker-shock-return-102039-23259965/

Tell you what, it may not be just the Family Guy writers who use manatees to work out their stories. This one is classic formula. 1 Player injured or wants out of club + 2. Other player in same position is available = 3. Transfer rumour with a bit of window dressing to make it sound 5% credible.

That said I'd welcome a return for Parker as I've said previously. He's the kind of bloke who you can count on to turn up on a Monday Night during December away at Wigan. We seem to have a few boys who have had trouble doing that over the past couple of seasons. But of course this is just lazy journalism so it probably isn't even being discussed.

Speculation: A few big speculation lines as you'd expect on a Sunday and the Sunday Express claims Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is ready to bankroll an £80million double swoop for Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Luka Modric.

SSN.

I actually wouldn't want anything to do with Tevez. I rate him as a player but don't like his attitude. He treats City like it is his personal bank to finance whatever his family needs. He seems like a person who knows his value too well or has been too loyal to his money grabbing agent. Either way stay at City.

To be fair to Tevez whatever he feels off the pitch he doesn't show on it. Works hard week in week out and you have to respect that but I don't think we need a player who may only be here 2 or 3 years before wanting to move again.

Same here..

Chelsea consider De Rossi

Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas is reportedly looking to Roma star Daniele De Rossi this summer.

The midfielder’s future at his hometown club is by no means secure, as his contract expires in June 2012.

So far there have been problems in negotiating a renewal, so the Giallorossi might have to sell in order to avoid losing him on a free transfer.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Chelsea and their new manager Villas-Boas are lining up a bid to take advantage of the situation.

De Rossi would be the ideal replacement for Michael Essien, who has picked up a serious injury that will keep him out for at least six months.

The 2006 World Cup winner had already been linked with Chelsea under Carlo Ancelotti’s tenure.
