August 16, 201114 yr Only thing I could find on the Talksport website was this Van der Kraan: 'Wesley Sneijder will join Manchester United but it won't be an easy ride' It won't be on talksport, I said he often talks to them. It came fresh from his twitter account.
August 16, 201114 yr He uses airplanes? I though his mate jesus would just pick him up and put him where he needs to be...... Yeah thats what i was thinking, must be some sort of mistake......
August 16, 201114 yr So you think he will go to L'Arse? ;) Non. Well if Udinese can knock them out he won't leave a club that's in the CL for one that isn't surely.
August 16, 201114 yr http://www.footballtransfertavern.com/2011/08/premiership/villas-boas-breathtaking-38m-spanish-raid-would-define-their-season Di Maria and Pepe on their way, can't see this one happening, leaving the 2nd best team in the world for the 5th or 6th when you're regularly making the starting line-up. There's a distinct smell of Bull of this one Also, if someone would be so kind as to rate the different sources of transfer rumours as to their accuracy, ie. which sites are good, which are bad, same for the papers. As a non-English national it's all a bit Greek to me. The only one i can say for definite isn't in the know is goal.com!
August 16, 201114 yr If Pepe came close to this club I would be furious, such a d**khead and always managed to get sent off or cause trouble in important matches

Footballtavern is on a par with Goal.com, as is teamtalk so I wouldnt rely on anything those 3 say. As for Pepe and Di Maria, talk about two polar opposites. I would love to see Di Maria, but if Pepe came then I would be so gutted as he is a complete tool.
August 16, 201114 yr Another wide player we shouldnt overlook is Pedro Leon. We tried to make a move for him back in January. Could add to our small but growing Spanish contingent and be extremely cheap given that he is now surplus to that team. He doesnt even have a squad number after he lost 21 to that Callejon guy with the eraserhead. Edited August 16, 201114 yr by TheWestwayWonder
August 16, 201114 yr This does not mean anything, but Pjanic didn't play tonight in their CL match. I wonder if there are any players that did play that we can cross off our list of imaginary transfer targets.

I wonder if there are any players that did play that we can cross off our list of imaginary transfer targets. Pjanic did come on as a sub, at least according to this site, so there's one we can cross off our list. He could still be off to Rottenham so we can get Modric though . Michel Bastos is another guy who's been linked with us I think.

He wasn't playing when I was watching earlier and I was thinking maybe it had something to do with not cup-tying him (not that I thought we were interested).
August 17, 201114 yr Lille have apparently put a £26million price-tag on Eden Hazard. Thats good value for money if it's true
August 17, 201114 yr Oops. He wasn't playing when I was watching earlier and I was thinking maybe it had something to do with not cup-tying him (not that I thought we were interested). My understanding is that he would still be eligible for the round of 16. Just not the group stages. But of course with Spuds the only suitor they wouldn't exactly be worried about him being cup-tied Thats good value for money if it's true
August 17, 201114 yr Sorry I think I cut my comments on gee off, but 26m for Hazard sounds fishy to me. With CL football to play and a new season that has started poorly, I'd think they'd be very reticent to let him go, at least right now. I think Kakuta might secure us first refusal though, or at least that is what we should be aiming for.

This guy is only 20 and made about first-team 150 appearances and 20 caps for Belguim and in my opinion will become one of the best players in the world. I just feel Chelsea are crying out for an exciting player like this, although I do believe Lille came out at the start of the summer and said he definately won't go Edited August 17, 201114 yr by gee
August 17, 201114 yr No disagreement there mate, but I'm questioning whether he is for sale or not. I wouldn't think he is. Then again, he can throw a bit of a strop apparently, so if our interest firms up he might try and force an exit.
August 17, 201114 yr I can see him ending up at Arsenal. I too doubt he's for sale and at that price. I think they'll be a bidding war for him next summer
August 17, 201114 yr Not sure about Arsenal. I think they have strengthened the wings pretty significantly this summer, with Oxlade Chamberlain and Gervinho joining, to add to Walcott and Arshavin. With the departures of Nasri and Fabregas they'll be looking for someone more centrally I'd say.
August 17, 201114 yr 26 Millions would be a steal, just look at how much Downing went. I seriously doubt about the price.
August 17, 201114 yr What has anyone done to be worth that much? The player is valued at what two clubs agree on, I wouldn't have given United 80m for Ronaldo but RM's valuation was different to mine and it was pretty spot on with Fergie's, so 80m he is worth.
August 17, 201114 yr £26m wouldn't be a bad price in the current market, although I must say the prices in the current market are over the top.

I agree with you. And £26m would be a fair price in the current market. All I'm asking is why £26m would be considered unrealistically low for him. Ronaldo for £80m was a bloody steal by the way in my opinion. I read somewhere that his shirt sales alone through the duration of the contract would make up for his fee.
August 17, 201114 yr I read somewhere that his shirt sales alone through the duration of the contract would make up for his fee. His shirt sales paid off the transfer fee before his first season at Real Madrid was over: http://www.goal.com/en/news/12/spain/2010/04/14/1878445/real-madrid-have-sold-over-a-million-cristiano-ronaldo
