Favourite Zola Moment?

Featured Replies

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place (so feel free to move) but I was speaking to a mate yesterday about our joyous FA Cup run/win in 96/97, and I have to say, that swivel followed by the drilled shot from Franco was probably my favourite ever moment of his. The cup run is encapsulated perfectly in this article I found; Chelsea's FA Cup - 1996/97 which highlights exactly how I felt at the time. Chelsea were a simple, but beautiful beast back then.

There are obviously other moments of his you may care to mentionl; Stockholm, the Norwich flick, turning Julian Dicks or Carragher inside out, and of course his final lob Vs Everton at the Bridge to name a couple.

Would be interested to hear yours!?!

All of those would be near the top of my list, but two of my favourite goals for us were the one v Wimbledon at the Library and the incredible free kick v Spuds.

Mine has to be in his last game for the Blues.

2-1 up against the Scousers -narrowly holding on to a Champions League Place, and he does this.

Legend.

That was mine also, I too great delight in going to work the week after and pointing out how easily a retiring 36/37 year old had torn their hero defender a new one about 5 times in the space of 5 yards. Genius.

Loads to choose from, his back heal for eddie newtons winner 97 fa cup final, got overlooked because of di matteos opener. All the above are some of my favourite moments in football. True legend in every sense.

So many but the goal against WImbledon stands out partly because of the occasion but also because of what it ultimately led us to - our first trophy for a million years!

Making Julian Dicks look the pub player that he was! Genius.

This clip from 5 mins onwards pretty much sums him up.

Love the freekick against Leicester

Think the Norwich goal was the best one I've seen but the Stuttgart goal for the importance + the fact he'd only just come on the pitch probably edges it for me!

Miss the little guy, we need someone like him back at the Bridge!

Despite the wealth of talent that has worn our jersey the past few years, he is still undoubtedly our best ever player. Watching those reels made me laugh, at just how amazingly brilliant he was.
