Thought the attendance might have been higher than that- believe they had 20,000 plus before. Yeah the crowd officially given back then was often just a guess. Or more spectators were in the grounds than the turnstiles 'clicked through'. The Morton v Chelsea game 1st Round Fairs Cup Second Leg tie at Cappielow in Sept 1968 is officially given as 8,000. My old man always laughed at that crowd, saying they must have 'accidentally left off 10,000 spectators' !
August 22, 20196 yr My old man attended this game . One of the 'official attendance' of 8,000 ! . I'd didn't attend. My mum wouldn't allow me to. This is due to me being just 15 months old at the time. A poor excuse I accept
August 22, 20196 yr At Anfield v Liverpool in the early 1960s. This is judging by Liverpool's and white shorts, They changed to the all red strip in 1964ish ?

At Fulham Broadway, thought one kid paid then hit the emergency exit at the back and everyone piled in before the commissionaire could work out where they had gone. Wagon wheels were defo larger then as well. Sometimes but yes, we had the same at the cinema where I live. One would pay and then open the door at the back. Looking back it must have been a nightmare for the staff with all us kids running about. Agree about the wagon wheels. And talking about sweets I remember buying eight black jacks or fruit salads for an old penny.

Mick Harford 2nd and Andy Townsend 29th min put us 2-0 up. They came back with three second half goals to win .16,880 saw it. This was the first season of the Premier League and Norwich finished 3rd. They were 2pts behind Villa who were 2nd and 12pts behind Title winners Man Utd. Yet we'd played them not a month before in the League. On Wednesday, 19th August 1992, losing 2-1 at Carrow Road. I only know that it was from 1964-65 season. 🙂 John Hollis was our No 4 for 1964/65 and he only scored 2 goals at The Bridge. v Leeds and Peterborough in the FA Cup . Strip looks wrong for 1964/65 We wore blue shorts in 1964/65.
August 22, 20196 yr Is it possibly a goal from 1963/64 ? As we last wore white shorts in that season.
