I preferred the "fun" and games  after promotions back then !

Still , we always made the best of some of our disastrous days !

Win or loose we were on the booze.

Too shagged out to go through the history books. Last time we got relegated was after that Boro game in 88- 35 years ago- Is this our longest spell in the top flight?

Dunno. Weren't we in the old first division for a long time ? From 1905 ? You might well be right mate. Hard to believe that game was 35 years ago though isn't it ?

I remember it more than any game last season !

Slightly on a tangent but once saw the wrestler Giant Haystacks in the pool at The National Sports Centre, Crystal Palace.

Ive seen some big fellas in my life but he was huge

I was once asked to move off one of the exercise machines there, was about to give them a mouthful then recognised it was the British women's shot putter so bit my tongue so to speak.

Later wondered why they were not using more elite gyms yet I guess not all make a lot of money.

That picture is a bit like Harris and another defender going for the same ball on the goal line v Leeds at Wembley.

Both missed it,  1-0 Leeds

Chopper and Eddie Mac, who kicked over the top of the ball, which did not bounce as the pitch was 95% sand - funny that.

And chopper immediately ran to the ref waving his arms and  complaining about something

Seen him do that a few times over the years 👍👍👍

Boyne:Any idea of the date of this picture? Notice that there’s no D on the edge of the penalty box.

Sorry, forgot to put the date. It's from 1922. Behind the goal at the North End it looks like the water jump used during athletics meetings. Well spotted about the D on the penalty box. Introduced in 1937,
