some people say rangers had thousands when they had section 2, 3, 4, like the one you can in the photo. was about 3,000 to 3,500 rangers in the north terrace which was a great turnout but not the thousands ive read elseware in the past

There could well be some confusion here between the 1985 game vs Rangers and the Ron Harris testimonial against Rangers on November 23rd 1971. I unfortunately managed to miss the 1971 game but by all accounts there were thousands upon thousands of Rangers fans there that night.

The picture doesn't tell the whole story, it was taken before the game started - most of the Gers fans didn't get in the ground till later. I was in the North Stand that evening, and there were far more than 3,500 Rangers fans in there. I was also at the Ron Harris testimonial in 1971, and Rangers nearly filled the entire North Stand terrace that night - superb support!

look forward to seeing them.....I dont know that fella, but the lot i was with were in the middle of the pic underneath the lamp. Most of them are from Epsom and Tolworth area.

I know a few lads from Epsom/Ewell, dont reconisge anyone in the pic though.

I've been trying to post some pics from Le Harve away but for some reason it only lets me post one pic per post which is annoying, i'll see what i can do though.

Iwas on a train with Rangers fans and i remember two things about this journey..They took off all the floppy handles that used to hang from the train ceiling. (and) i remember them singing a song continuously..It was something like

................HARRY HARRY

LOU MACARI

KEVIN BARRY

HARRY HOOD.....Lots of very tough looking individuals..(1971)

I stood on the North Stand with my Dad, Christ were they pissed up or what.!! I picked up a Rangers rosette which fell off one of them when they scored and I could see him looking around for it and probably would have hit me with the whiskey bottle he had in his hand if he'd caught me with it. I was only ten at the time.
