Long before my time mate but i have heard he did yeah, quality.

We had thousands there that day, three sides of the ground all Chelsea, everyone was in a good mood, Hickey made us laugh and then the walls fell down in the first minute behind one goal and on the side after a near miss and the fans surged as was normal in those days. Of course we got the blame for kicking them down, pitch invasions, you even see it portrayed as violence in some of the hoolie videos on you tube.

Don't remember him climbing the floodlights, he was directly behind the goal at the Coronation Gardens end most of the game.

Not even sure he was arrested?, If my memory serves me right he was in our group walking in the direction of the Lion and Key pub after the match.

There was no trouble at the game. In attempting to blame Chelsea fans - and come on, how plausible is that that anyone would phone in threatening to tear down the walls? Answer is it's not. Neither is his claim that the "leader of the Shed" threatened to tear the ground apart if we lost any more feasible.

Brian Winston comes across as a lying bar steward who makes the right noises about concern for injured fans, but who was actually more concerned about falling foul of Health & Safety regulations and with getting a full return on the insurance.

Looks more like chelsea v leeds 1982/83

It is chelsea 0 leeds 0 82/83 if you type that on youtube you see that exact moment. Come 84 when the icf were in gate 13 was a fence in front of gate 13 also it was before the kick off was 2/3 empty and the row was nearer the end bit nearer the north terrace

How times change.

The following is a page from a 1985-1986 matchday programme, against Oxford as it happens, which I believe has been mentioned elsewhere. No it wasn't me that pissed down the guy's leg!

Even Darren Wood managed to get funding for his socks, but poor old Johnny Millar was left cruelly unsponsored. One thing that puzzles me though, who was this "Beste" guy? As far as I know, no player of that name has ever played for the club.

Robin Beste was the player. Very talented youth team striker who looked set to break into first team when his career was finished by injury. Here he is in a team photo from 86-87 season
