October 20, 201213 yr I worked putting up those blue mesh steel panels at the top of the stairs 78ish. Anybody else remember when the signage above the turnstiles was an advert for Youngs of Wandsworth beer? Edited October 20, 201213 yr by MKBlue
October 21, 201213 yr Due to PC problems having trouble playing catch up:- Posponed games QPR away around 1973, massed ranks of Chelsea waiting for the loft gates to be opened only to be told game was cancelled:- Burnley Game, got to Victoria and masses of Chelsea heading to Highbury cos our game was posponed. Chelsea in North Bank for the whole game also Wolves got steamed into on the clock end. FA cup replay at Highbury around 1972 ish lost and Arse got a penalty that never was, the crush going home at Arsenal Tube was so bad that I got swept into the tube staion and down the escalator sometimes my feet were not even on the ground, It really was by the grace of God that a mass disaster never happened, my programmed disintergrated in my inside pocket due to the crushing and heat. Other thngs happening early 1970s were afternoon kick offs due to the 3 day week. Bolton away, Chelsea mob in the Bolton End after it kicked off Chelsea ran from the away fans end across the pitch for a mass take of the Bolton end the Bolton fans ran the other way into the away end and still got a pasting from a mob under a giant union jack. I was at that Bolton game and part of the mob that ran across the pitch before the game ( if you're talking about the 2-2 draw when us and Bolton were at the top of div 2)It was a funny day all round....outside the ground Chelsea fans gave 2 other Chelsea fans a good kicking for trying to slap a young Bolton fan of about 9 and nick his programme and rosette. After the game we had a police escort back to the train station and had a few scuffles with Bolton trying to get at us......and when we got back to the station the main Chelsea mob returned from a successful ruck with Bolton's mob.......and Babs carrying a crate of beers under his stump!! :) And that was another game where we chanted Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea! throughout the whole of the second half and inspired the boys to come back from 2-0 down and grab a draw!!!

October 23, 201213 yr Remember that game well, over 50,000 inside the Bridge with only three sides of the stadium open. Plus of course, we beat Leeds 4-0!
October 24, 201213 yr 'The crash barriers buckling ' under weight of numbers was part of the Ibrox Disaster in 1971. This happened on a stairwell exit down which a vast number of supporters were leaving Ibrox at the end of 2nd January 1971 Rangers v Celtic game.
October 25, 201213 yr Author Some good pics on this site, shame we're not allowed to right click on them to share amongst fellow CFC fans, especially considering one of my own actual photographs is amongst them! http://www.corbychelsea.com/stamford-bridge.php http://www.corbychelsea.com/wtf.php
October 25, 201213 yr Good site, try right clicking twice, on the second time click the box that pops up about preventing additional dialogues, and you'll then be able to right click on whatever you want, albeit once. Rinse and repeat as often as you need. I'm using Firefox, not sure if that has anything to do with it, so it may not be applicable if you're using another browser. October 25, 201213 yr On a Mac I can just drag them onto the desktop. Great pics though! I love the East Stand 1920-21 taken from the south. That must be smoke drifting up - 70,000 men, all wearing flat caps and all smoking a woodbine!

October 26, 201213 yr LOL I put a block on lifting pictures from the website www.corbychelsea.com because I found out that someone was selling watercolours of a picture I took! (Sheds last stand 1994.) I know there are ways round it, I just felt if someone wanted to lift my work I'd make it a little harder than a simple 'right click save' job! I removed the block a few weeks ago, you shouldn't have any problems lifting something, if there is, let me know! The website started years ago as an easier way to follow our predictions comp that we do each year. Back in 93 we photocopied everthing and posted them! Some of the gang moved to Oz & NZ a while back and they can now check themselves how good - or in my case bad - they are doing! Every so often I put a new page on with stuff that I've scanned from progs books mags etc or lifted off the web, including here. Currently updating the team pics page. Enjoy!

Fair enough mate, to be honest i got pissed off with some bod on ebay who is now selling pics from various sites including this one i think? he's knocking out some of mine which i'm not happy about, i dont mind sharing them with fellow fans ect or them then using them but not to make a profit ffs. Here's one of my actual photo's you have used on your site, i dont mind that at all, you have some quality pics, i like the Speedie in the mud pic, sums up that era perfectly. Do you remember a site called FC CHELSEA.COM i think it was? it had 100s of fans own photo's on there, i sent them some of mine, that site doesnt exist anymore which is a shame as it was quality.
