Terrific posts here. I was always baffled by the reports on the Leeds game, was on the pitch same as everyone else and recall it as being good natured.

Great posts yet again Carshalton, that West ham game was quality I remember it well, we were singing "where's your famous ice cream firm".  More of the same tomorrow we hope!

I used to love Jingle Bells Jingle Bells Jingle all the way oh what fun it is to see Chelsea win away, normally sung up north by a packed soild terrace of Chelsea fans, that was sung from Nov right up to Jan obviously depending if we won or not lol!

I will never forget the jingle bells after the 4-3 win at Goodison mid 80s followed by our whole end singing "always look on the bright side of life" as the golf balls went flying backwards and forwards!

Eddie Mac, have you or anyone posted the Oldham game in 79/80 last game of the season. Would love to see again, to see how close we came to promotion. Remember celebrations during the game with scores coming in over the radio favouring us. Only to be let down by West ham.

There's press photo from that game I kept for years but can't find now. It shows Canoville celebrating in front of invading fans on the edge of the pitch, just after he scored the 5th goal. It's a great shot but I can't find it on line.
