Maybe went to more. I'll see if I can find the programmes for the games. I know we played Real Sociedad. in one. Possibly for Eddie. Might see you at the next game. Cheers. Real Sociedad was for Johnny B’s testimonial. Felt sorry for him. Only about 3,000 turned up, chucking it down all day. Opposition had to be paid and expenses didn’t leave him with much for a long career. Eddie’s was 83-84 vs 88/89 plus guests

Eddie’s was 83-84 vs 88/89 plus guests I went to the testimonial for Peter Houseman's family after his tragic death. Think we played a London 11. It was a decent crowd that night, about 16 or 18,000 thousand I seem to recall.
November 22, 20241 yr Just a few words on Peter Houseman... Not only did the crash kill both Peter and his wife, another couple were killed in the same car leaving 6 children as orphans The driver of the other car, ( Bartholomew Smith) speeding at an estimated 100mph ,( in a Maserati ), was a member of the infamous Oxford University's Bullindon Club, his father was a wealthy Conservative MP . Despite having 4 previous driving convictions he wasn't even breathalysed and escaped with a fine and driving ban, despite being described as " heavily intoxicated" by witnesses, a doctor and others. Not only a terrible tragedy but also an awful injustice too. Edited November 22, 20241 yr by The Rising Sun Info

At the time he was playing for QPR. It was at the course where he met his wife to be Amanda. I knew Amanda before the course as she was a friend of one of my sisters. Little did we know at the time that he would sign for Chelsea a few years later. Remember that lot well Stein scoring away at WHU, Spencer getting that great equaliser in Vienna, Peacock scoring the winners in the season we did the double over Utd and Wise scoring at both Utd and Liverpool when we won there.
