October 11, 20241 yr A bit different. From 1905 when Middlesex played the New Zealand All Blacks at the Bridge. The All Blacks won 34-0.

Some fine players in the team. Graham left for Arsenal a left couple of years later in a swap for the leader of the team, Tommy Baldwin.

It was the first time that the All Blacks had played outside of Australasia and played all four nations of what was then the British Isles; a number of club and regional teams and then France and a couple of games in North America. Played 35 matches and won 34 of them. Wales beat them.

I really miss seeing the old floodlight pylons at stadiums, they look almost graceful in old images. I remember Villa had the bulbs arranged in an "A" and "V" formation! They were very helpful years ago when driving to away games with just an A to Z!! When you arrived in a location looking for the floodlights was the first thing you did!
