Seemed to be a mix up but “Batesy” was around and asked for calm as we politely helped eject them. So no sharing!

Loads of Chelsea from Croydon, Thornton Heath, Dulwich, Norbury. Geographical should have been Palace, and probably was majority so, however we had decent numbers from that way. Think we were the first team to have ‘ chaps” sitting in seats.

Massive turn out at Leeds in 83/84 seats along the side behind the paddock. Numbers of 7-8k. Didn’t do train but was in a 50 coach police escort from the motorway. For a 15 year old it looked the bo^*ocks!!!

September 21, 20241 yr When Chelsea signed up Boston United teenagers Gordon Bolland and Michael Robinson just before Christmas in 1959, Chelsea agreed to send a strong team over to Boston to play in a floodlit friendly match to supplement the small fee involved in the transfer. So on Monday 14th March 1960 chairman Joe Mears and manager Ted Drake brought a Chelsea side up to Boston containing nine players with first team experience. Chelsea won 4-1 in front of a crowd of 3257.
