Ah Chelsea and the no history bollox, our history over our first 90 years did have a real lack of trophies, but trophies don't mean everything regarding history. Within 5 years of our existence we were getting the largest attendances in the country, the top 10 largest attendances ever recorded up until old Trafford got extended 10 years ago, involved Chelsea and the bridge three times, up until the late 70's when our crowds dipped (we were sh*t, and hooligans) we had the largest average attendance in London over the previous 70 years, in the early 80's when we nearly went bust and were bottom of the old div 2, the police announced we had third largest away support in the country behind utd and Liverpool, come THAT season 83/84, we most probably had an away support that matched them or even over took there's. The old skool of other clubs know what we were in the old days, it's just the young ones that w**k over FIFA on the play station, and going to a game is watching it down the pub and buying a replica shirt just haven't been educated!! Carefree

I'm sure I've read that this game was Seb Coe's first game at The Bridge.    Not a bad game to start with

It is Brighton. Is it in bad taste to say to say you can't see Rod Hull because it's not an aerial shot.

We won 2-0, but the story and rightly so was David Webb going in goal and playing brilliantly.

A good crowd of 43,896 saw it.

This is the programme with the wrong date. It says 27 December 1968 rather than 1986. Too much drinking in the company which printed the programmes? 

 That season !  27th Dec 1983 and we drew 2-2 with Portsmouth at The Bridge. 

Our scorers: Canoville 6th, Dixon 39th mins.  King Kerry missed two penalties !   In the  first half too and I still don't believe it !!
